If you do I would really really appreciate an invite so I can get it started, Ill be switching to Verizon and picking up a Droid in under a month and wanted to get the ball rolling.

If you have google voice how do you like it, how easy is it etc etc?

well it seems the invite is only available through google, I had no idea google voice was so unbelievably popular that signing up was like getting into the vip section.

I've got it. I think it's pretty cool so far. I haven't received any invites yet, though. It's not that it's super exclusive, it's that it's still in beta.

Don't hate me, I have 4 google voice number. I signed up a long time ago.
I love it and I can keep changing numbers for $10 (not that this is something a normal person would do...)

Anyone who needs an invite send me a PM with your google mail address and I'll get invites sent out ASAP.

First come first serve as there will be a limited number of invites available.

Google Voice would save you so much money in phone bills, you can just put the minimum amount plan on your cell or home phone and just use free minutes and texting through google.

Can you make free calls thru google voice though? it still connects through your phone so your still using minutes..... it would be cool if it was like skype and you could do computer calls....

If you have a Gizmo5 account, it's possible

But it's using your phone's minutes when you call or when you get calls...
At least it does in mine..

+1 definitely uses minutes on the phone.

reading a transcribed voicemail text does not use minutes (but text rates apply if you have them).

Too bad I cant hook up my Comcast number to it.

The transcription is surprisingly good, I think, especially compared to voice to text feature in android.
