check both sides of the river... I'm from Spokane, WA but am currently a resident of oregon (eugene/springfield)... last year I checked for tint quotes... the cheapest I found here was $225, and some places wanted over $300. Called a place back in spokane, they quoted me $160. I instantly booked an appointment 2 months in advance (next time I was going to be in town).
now, I may not have gotten as good of a tint, or I may have just gotten the best deal of my life... regardless, I didn't want to pay the extra $70. The way I see it, the amount I saved, paid for the gas on the trip.... which I was going to make regardless of getting the tint done in spokane or not.
Stereo shops seem to have lower prices than window shops in my experience... but check out both types of shops.

Streamline Audio in Vancouver
Talk to Jim, tell him "John" referred you. Also, tell him you looked at his website (whether you do or not)...that should knock the price down a little. I'm having a nice alarm put in along with thier best tint for my sedan this week. It's going to look sweet on that flint micha paint job...

Also, you may want to ask him about the Yaris build if you're at all into sound systems. It starts early April after I get back stateside.

There's also nothing like spending so much money at snaptint.com and the messing it up...
and still having to pay for the professionals to do it.
Don't bother, just get a shop to do it. It's not that expensive.

I would love to try my hand at tinting... but I see how many bad tint jobs are on the streets, and figure i'd be really pissed if I had even 1 imperfection on the window.

I just put mine in for tint an alarm yesterday. The shop owner says he'll do the best quality Llumar tint at 35%. I'll post pictures up when he sends them. I think it'll be great looking...flint micha sedan in the "S" trim with smoked in-channel vent shades AND a sweet looking tint? Oh man...

I do apologize about the quality of the pictures, when I get home I'll be taking better photos. The next exterior addition will be factory OEM alloys. I found Yaris 15" rims for $134 each... *wringing hands*

I got lucky and called around for about an hour and then found a shop half a mile from my apartment and they charged me $170 and it came out perfect and did it the same night......
for the Portland area I am not sure......give The Shop a call they are a tuner shop but I bet they have a tinting recomendation for a shop in the area.

The shop I used, Streamline Audio, is obviously a sound shop...
The owners work closely with a detail shop close by. The owner of Streamline took my car down to the detail shop and he had it back by opening the next morning.
It looks good to me. Spring and rims...springs and rims next.
