So i cant seem to the ssk to fit far enough down the shifter shaft, i see theres a lip half way down the ssk that is too narrow for the ball of the shifter to pass, Iv read it should be easy, but i have a 09, and...install the engine bay one was NOT easy, had to shave it down, maybe i am running into same problem again year differences?

Could be because it's an '09... I didn't have any issues on my '07. :iono:
Some pics of the problem might help...

the problem is the ssk wont slide past the ball joint of the stick shifter.

I think you might want to let Mike@NST know about this... I think he's under the impression that the SSK is compatible with all MT Yarii. He may be able to help you out.

The SSK v1 needs a small modification in order to fit 09+ models. It appears the SSK v2 needs one too.

the 09 ssk parts have to be modded slightly to get them to fit in 09s. Why toyota made them just a lil bit different i have no clue but i have the engine bay ssk and had to hit it with the dremmel. i dont know about the in-cab one tho. surely another person with an 09 has done it and gotten it to work.

UPDATE!!!!
This issue was due to a small machining error on the last batch of the IN-CABIN SSK-2 for the Yaris. We have since resolved this issue and we have asked all of our authorized retailers to return their inventory for immediate replacement.
I believe I chatted with this member earlier today and we got his issue resolved.
So, to conclude...
The NSTSSK09-2 IN-CABIN SSK works for ALL YARIS MODELS!
:thumbsup::thumbsup:
