I want to put subs in my Yaris....

Hello! I am new to this forum and also new to the world of subs. I just decided today and I am finally going to get some :) (I want Khloe to wham everywhere I go!)

My problem is, because of limited "trunk space" Im not sure what kind of box to get and what I will be able to put back there. Im not worried about not having the storage space. If anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Are you going to an audio shop to have your upgrades installed or wired? They can probably help you with what will fit and not seem "too big" to you.

You can also look through the audio thread on here, and then say which systems look similar to what you might want.

I have one 10" sub and with a decent amp on it, I get plenty of boom for my taste. I listen to electronica mostly -- the style of music you listen to is also a consideration.

you could find a nice prefab box for 2 10's that would fit in the back just fine but we need a little more info, music taste, how much boom, budget etc.

Tax returns, son :) Budget isnt an issue at this point. I listen to hip hop and punk rock (some heavy metal) so Im pretty much looking for something that will bump nice to just about anything. I dont need it to rattle my shit apart :) But I want something that goes really nice with the accoustics of a Yaris. I tried going to a place called "Quality Audio" today just to get an idea as to what I want. They were closed :( But Im thinking either 2 10"s or 1 12". What do you think? Khloe needs to be boom boomin all over the god damn place :)

I don't know what the dimensions of the available space of the hatch of a regular yaris are but if either of these two enclosures will fit Id take one.

Ive used these specific boxes from this seller for a long time and they're by far the best pre-fab(but hand made) boxes around.

That last box is what I had my 2 12" RE SX12's in and it sounded really nice.

Pair it with an Alpine Type R or something similar and youll have a nice pounding subwoofer setup.

Of course we could all list a 12" sub that we like but I just said something cost effective, pretty good over all, and nice quality.

I made this one out of MDF, coverd it in cashmere and stuck 2x 12" 50W subs in (they were $10). More than enough bass for the little car :D

Architect is talking dirty with the four 15" idea...

I know it can be done easily too. Heck two sealed ID 15"s only take up 3 cubes.

I know two ID IDQ 12"s only take up a max of 2 cubes sealed. That's what I'm using for my setup. Also, remember to give whatever you're pushing good power. More power is ALWAYS better.

go with a quality 10" sub. Buy a sealed box for it, and a 300watt amp. If you later decide you want more. Then you can either get a ported box, or buy a 2nd sub & amp.

Also, decide whether you care about the looks of the sub. Some people like to have pretty or shinny looking subs. If that isn't a concern, there are a lot of lesser known brands that make very good quality subs for a fraction of the cost that the brand names ask.

I found what Im getting! 2 12" 750 watt Autoteks, a box (One of the slanty ones lol), wires, and a 1000 watt amp for $250. Now, Im thinking I need a cap. Wouldn't my lil bean dying due to the exessive amount of noise coming out of it :) Its going to be retarded loud and I'm super excited. Should be whammin by Saturday ^_^ Thanks for all your help guys! :)

Unless the amp is hot, or all the parts are used... I don't see how that price is possible.

My guess is the amp is 1000 peak, and more like 200rms, in which case, a cap will not be needed, but actually, wouldn't hurt things since 200watt amp has a relatively low amp draw.

I bought it new from a wholesale place. They supply all the big stores around here. I had to go to the hood (effing scary LOL) but totally worth it. Im going to try to get in installed tomorrow. Ill be sure to post pics :)

And I dont know about the amp. She wrote everything down on the back of her business card and all it says is that its a 1000 watt amp.

Im still worried about the cap though. I need to find out if I need one. I dont want to kill my lil Khloe bean :( That would be super sad.

you very honestly do not at all need a cap for that amount of power, itll only be a hiccup, if anything spend the money on a better battery.

I have a sedan yaris, and I am thinking of putting it two 10" self powered soundbarrier subwoofers but I have no idea how to install them can anyone help me out and give me some ideas on what to do
