Has anyone done this? Esp. those with HID installed? Would like to install a HID kit, but want to keep the DRL, so I guess it's the best to use the parking light as DRL? Any thoughts?

I'd be interested to know about this as well. Actually, I was thinking about getting fog lights and using those as DRLs.

I am actually looking for how to rewire the connection to make the parking light comes on when you turn on the car, without flipping the light switch.

That's not a bad idea and would be a lot easier than trying to tap the DRL.

All you'd need to do is run a wire from a switched circuit in the fuse panel through the firewall to the parking lamp. Clip the existing leads, cap and tape them then wire the new one in and ground it.
