Hi!
I have read that Yaris have DRL (Daytime running light)s which can cause problems with HID xenon systems. I have Yaris 1,3 VVT-i, 2001. My question is, from which product year Yaris does have DRL? Do I need to remove DRL module if I want to hid-lights?
Thank you!

It differs from country to country: in the US (DRL allowed but not required) '06-09 hathcbacks with the "All-Weather Guard Option" package (shipped by default to the northern tier of states) have it; it was eliminated from the pack for MY 2010.
Some Canadians (DRL required) have re-wired the car to use the foglights or parking lights as DRL with HID headlights.

to know if you have DRL... start your car, and release the handbrake.. If the headlights turn on, then you have DRL.
on a 99-2004 yaris, the DRL module is located just under the dash trim, on the left if you are left hand drive. I believe it is on the right if you are right hand drive... it's a brown box.
on that particular model, if you unplug it, it will cause the handbrake light to not turn on anymore.

If disable DRL and all lights stop working.
