I've been doing a lot of research on here and contemplating on how to make my sound system better. I still have stock everything, and since I have an integrated stereo, considered just replacing the speakers for now until I get that non-integrated part (it's expensive, the one dealer said it was like $100). Well should I just replace the rear speakers now, or should I just go ahead and get a new head unit and all that stuff?

New speakers with an amp will do wonders for a start

Not much difference between a stock HU and a cheap aftermarket HU, With better quality units you get pre outs for amp and better sound quality but they all do bacically the same thing...send a signal

Regardless what you do with the intergraded HU you are going to need to update the speakers and add an amp even with an aftermarket unit.

start with just the front speakers see how you like them first.

go with speakers you actually LIKE. not things you think you'd like.

True. Go to a stereo shop or electronics store and listen to a whole bunch of different speakers and decide which ones sound best to you, not what people over the 'net recommend.

Correct...you ma be recommended some fancy, only-known-by-audiophile brand, with plently of controls..but maybe you can find a bling-bling unit that you may like just by the looks..

It has to be 50/50 something you like /performance.

a tip when you go to listen to speakers, bring a CD that you know you like the sound of, alot of times shops will either have no cd's terrible cd's, or cd's that are just made to make speakers sound good ;)
