Has anyone ever participated in a Road Rally? I've always been insterested in it. I registered for the 2010 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Road rally on sunday July 11th (open to all cars). This will be my first event and was curious to see if anyone else has done one before.

I have in the past. They were mini rallies that took place in the evenings. They were time speed distance. They were a blast but you will require a good navagator and a good supply of gravol.

The Targa events are also TSD's but higher speed events and a blast to drive.
High exposure events with international entrants from around the world.

Local city TSD's are also a blast to do and great for learning about Navigation as well as the driver/Navigator communications! A must for building confidence and team spirit for the bigger sanctioned events.

Have fun!

Wow the Targa events look like a blast! The one in july is a small rally and would probably be the best place to get my feet wet. Are there any events like the Targa ones in the US?

Not that I know of. There are alot of Targa type events like the Lap of America and Cannonball, but it's really a different sort. In Europe there are alot of Tarmac rallies.
When you get a chance, c'mon up to Canada and rally in the mountains!

Lots of great videos on youtube.
