So, finally got around to installing my springs today... only to drive away from the base with clunking noises coming from the front end.
I trimmed the bumpstop about 1 cm, to be conservative at first. The only problem that I could honestly see is that there is a gap (about 3-4mm) between the fenderwall and the "Front No. 2 Suspension Support," when the car has 4 wheels on the ground. Thats the name given to it by the FSM.
Essentially, it seems like the entire strut assembly is bouncing independently of the body, and as such, is slamming into it when going over bumps, causing the clunking noise.
Has anybody else experienced this recently? Its a 2010 Hatchback but that seems like it doesnt matter.
