Nope, the only fluid I have flushed or changed, is the engine oil. I top up the coolant every couple months. Still running on the original MTF too.

I'm with Mad Dog, even if your pads are still good, 3 year old brake fluid isn't.

I think every other fluid in the car other than the engine oil should be good for at least 5 years regardless of mileage. At that point, I'd at least change the coolant.

Why should you get your brakes checked? Are you kidding? You've done over 400,000mi and said that you have no idea what % pad you have left, for all you know you could be running piston onto rotor.

Also brake fluid, like most automotive fluids dont last forever http://www.aa1car.com/library/bfluid.htm.

Rather than you be invovled in a crash because you could not stop your vehicle due to brake failure i'd rather you have your brakes looked at. It would be a heavy burden to wear if you killed or injured someone and also your insurance policy probably states in it somewhere (assuming you have insurance, no offense intended) that you must keep your car roadworthy to be covered by the policy.

He said "why check them ASAP?" Because he plans on changing the pads this week. Same reason that you wouldn't check your oil level when you're about to go for an oil change anyway.

Also, it isn't like he hasn't checked once in 400K. In past threads, he has made it clear that they were checked periodically and it was determined that the pads had very little wear since it was 98% highway miles requiring no brakes.

maybe 5 or 6 hours driving plus delivery time.

I also wonder how he handles the physical and mental demand of driving an a average of 13 hours a day, everyday.

Florida DOT hours of service rules say you can be on duty for 16 hours straight, with up to 12 hours of that spent driving. Then you must take a 10 hour reset. Then you are allowed to do it all over again. And you are allowed to be on duty up to 80 hours in an eight day period. In other words, legally, you could be on duty 16 hours a day for five days straight and still be legal, but you could only be driving for sixty hours of that.

Thus, the guy behind the wheel of the semi-truck that is behind you may be completely overworked and sleep deprived, so don't get too close.

Certainly more than 5-6 hours. You are correct in the 8-10 hours with stops.

Yeah, when he talks about how just about everything is original, he isn't counting the usual periodic wear items such as plugs, belt, tires, ect. It should be fairly obvious that items such as spark plugs aren't going 400,000 miles.

Your car is going to last forever :)

I am excited for it to hit 1,000,000!!

If it hits 1,000,000 - I would almost think Toyota would have to say something about that. lol

I wonder will they go to 7 digits on the ODO now?

Remember it wasn't too long ago that odometers only had 5 digits. Automakers right through the '80's didn't even expect their cars to pass just 99,999 miles. Now, most cars don't even need a tune up or even their first repair until after 100K.

Love this man! Gives me hope that mine will last at least through the term of the loan, haha

Just remember he's driving like 250 miles a day to get those numbers. My Yaris will not see 100k in 16 years at the rate the miles are going on. I dont expect things to hold up as well.

Try over 360 miles per day, 6 days a week (I believe he said he works Saturdays).

You're right though, don't expect the same durability results if it takes you 20 years to go 400K. Time is just as much a killer of cars as mileage is.

That's true ... I didn't think about that.

Either way, it's still impressive; if for nothing else just the knowledge that we can almost literally keep the car driving 24/7 and it will just keep going and going. haha

Lol 400k, that's a mind numbing amount of driving. Congrats! Be careful on the highway, 120mph is a felony i think??

Wow that is amazing! Yotaz for the long haul!

I told my Honda driving buddy about it at work here and he was amazed, showed me this article where a guy clocked in 480k

With the mediocre seats, 400,000 is amazing!

Well, finally got an update off his YouTube page.

Unfortunately, we've seen the extent of is crazy mileage as he is no longer doing the courier work.

He stands at 410,000 miles but is only driving normally now.

At 400K, you have almost spent as much on gas as the car costs.....impressive.
