The other day I was reading in the paper how blogging is quickly becoming a thing of a past, with Twitter, FaceBook, and all these other social networking sites available, especially among young people.

So I was wondering, do you guys still use blogs?

I know 'thirty-nine" has a really cool blog. Does anyone else on here have a blog?

BTW how many of you are on my space? Facebook? LinkedIn? Buzz?

Anything else ?

Myspace is old news now.

Facebook is the big one for me...

I've started blogs before but felt like I was talking to thin air.

Could never see the point in blogs. I have FB, but mostly to chat with my kids and catch up with old friends. MySpace? Don't make me laugh (seriously, my lip is split and it hurts...)
LinkedIn? Yup, for work purposes.

My mom just started a blog on her new website about pet care. It's called Pet Lovers Blog. Check out the site!

Arrrr.. got a wee bit tipsy on the rum did we?

No blog, no Facebook, no MySpace. Email and phone keep me effectively in touch with those I need to be in touch with.

Not the rum (haven't drunk alcohol for 34 years, except the occasional ritual champagne), just a very dry winter, and I hate using ChapStick.

Thanks for the compliment, tomato.

I have all of the above, as you probably know.

I don't see blogs becoming a "thing of the past." I see them becoming more mainstream than anything. They're a great way to share information, just like any other Web site.

Social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc., is pretty interesting. MySpace has taken a big dive traffic wise, while Facebook and Twitter have both increased in use. However, the big question will be how long will Facebook/Twitter be popular until the next great Internet phenomenon become big?

I used to have a blog, but when I started real life, I found myself not having the time anymore. Facebook has taken its place in my bookmarks bar, mostly because of the email updates, reply to the emails to reply to a post instead of having to sign in, and the feed.

That's not to say I don't read blogs... In most cases, I prefer them over mainstream media!

Myspace... Bleh.

Just facebook. It feels too much like keeping a journal and I've never gotten the hang of keeping a journal.

too tired to keep up with the next "it" thing. Myspace still works for me. Had a blog before there were sites to make them. but I got tired of making html code.

Did have a myspace (that's actually how I met my boyfriend), but my password got phished, and I can't seem to get that issue fixed (even after changing passwords multiple times).

Still have a Facebook (just got into the Farmville game...). It's been a good way to get in touch with a lot of people from high school. Particularly since we were supposed to have had our 10-year reunion last year, but our class pres slacked. Perhaps this year we might have something instead (thanks to FB).

Blog, never really did that... At least not in terms of writing. I guess I sort of have a blog with my photography though...

I feel that on the commercial/business side, blogs are more taking off. Even some news sites are using blogs as their sole way to communicate now.

On a personal side, I'd agree that once Twitter/Facebook really took off, some blogs were left in the dust to the more interactive nature of FB/Twitter.

I can't stand Twitter on a personal level, but they also have programs that will update all your status's at the same time so you never need to log in to it. (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc.)

(And to your question; I use Facebook and Myspace, but only from my BlackBerry when I have nothing better to do.)
