I read the article on the 400k mi yaris, said that it had the drive belt replaced.

what exactly is the drive belt? the one for the hydraulic steering? alternator? AC?

my car has a "squeaking" sound in the engine compartment, believe it's a belt that need replacement, wondering which one it is XD

that would be the accessory drive belt

The Yaris does not have hydraulic steering, it is electric.

The AC and alternator all run on the accessory belt, or the serpentine belt. I had mine replaced at around 75000km but I find it needs to be tightened often, especially if you live where there are bumpy roads lol.

Our accessory belt has no tensioner, so it may just be stretched out a little. You can loosen the alternator bolts, then use a crow bar(careful what you brace it on) to hold the alternator to increase the tension on the belt and re-tighten the bolts.
