Jaon, do I need to make an appointment? I'd like to come by next Saturday or the following Saturday. Thanks.

My yaris definitely needs tender loving care. I sure don't want to go to JiffyLube and the stealership wants me to do the 65K maintenance even though I'm only at 58K, wtf

Plus, my mom's friend took her older Corolla to the dealership for a simple oil change. They got her when they were done, and she drove off. Then her engine seized. They either forgot to put in OIL or the DRAIN PLUG back in! Also, they made her buy a new Corolla, although I'm not sure if she got some type of discount.

We're on. I'm gonna call you next week.

BTW, does anybody else need an oil change? Maybe we could turn it into a mini-meet?

OK, Jason, I tried. I called today, the guy told me they couldn't give me an appt. for an oil change because it wasn't "fair" to the others who didn't have an appointment, whatever that means. :iono:

Since my car has to go to the stealership in the morning for her recall work anyway, I guess I'll ask them to do the oil change, too at the same time. I don't even know when I'm getting my car back anyway. They take the car from you in the morning and they tell you to come back and pick i t up hours later. At least it's nearby so I can walk home and go do something else while I'm waiting. We'll try again another time, sorry. (I know they won't top my fluids unless I pay them the really big bucks  but maybe it's time I learn to do some of these basic things myself anyway :iono:)

Sorry it was my day off today. Its no problem. Maybe next time. I gota bring my car to the dealer too again. My passenger side door lock actuator just went out. Let me know how it goes if they can do same day service still with all these recalls if they still fit people in.

yeah, they're crazy busy lately. You better call them and ask, probably depends where you go. I'll let you know what happens.

You'll get better service if you go during the week and try to get the first appt. before they get all backed up.

I can scan you a copy of the letter from Toyota and txt it to you if you want.
PM me your email address if you want.
I'll see if I can take a photo of it tonight and maybe just upload it here if the writing isn't too small.

Kioshi, I didn't find the letter last night but I'll look for it this week-end

In the meantime, here is a link that tells you what you need to know.

http://www.themotorreport.com.au/18182/toyota-recalls-13-million-yarises-for-combustible-seat-belt-pads

You should be able to call the nearest dealer with your vin number and they can probably take it from there.

I've been getting those letters. lol. I think I may just remove the insulator myself one of these days. i don't want to wait HOURS at the dealership.

just do what the article said

Fixing the issue is expected to take no more than an hour, and can be done at Toyota dealers. Affected owners should receive notice from Toyota over the next week. Owners of used Yarises are advised to contact their local Toyota dealer or service centre.

In the meantime, we suggest you avoid severe frontal collisions.

at least until after you have removed the insulation
