I am going to decide on a sedan or hatchback purely based on the ability to install rear-facing childseats in the back. I know the sedan has a longer wheelbase, but that doesn't necessarily equate to more rear-seat room for child -seats. I have tried to search the internet and these forums but a definitive answer isn't there.

Does anyone have rear-facing in the sedan/hatchback, and how is it? (if its even possible)

This will be my daily driver and not my dedicated family vehicle, but if the need arises...

Thank you for your help.

I have a front facing seat in my sedan now but when I had the rear facing seat in there was plenty of room. Even with a person sitting in the front seat there was still enough room to move the seat back without hitting the car seat.

Same as Brian. I have no problems in my sedan and I am 6'3". I have a pic attached for you. My seat is almost all the way back and I have plenty of room to slide him in and get him back out.

you definitely want to go with the sedan. i have a rear facing car seat in my hatchback and i have to move my seat forward alot. the longer wheelbase of the sedan is a big plus when it comes to car seats.
