So im having all my silver interior pieces painted tomorrow. I got the entire pieces around the dash and on the doors off already. The piece around the shifter does anyone know if it can be removed with simply prying it off with a screwdriver. I dont want to break anything. Or do i have to remove the entire center consol first.

Just lift up on the center console around it. Then it will come up. You have to wiggle it around a bit, but the far edges are a little bit flexible.
I have a picture of what it all looks like taken off

I was painting the trim blue to try and match the exterior. I am going to redo some of the items I painted with the neffy stuff.
Its pretty easy to get off. It pops off as easy as the side pieces around the radio.

just take your time and it all comes out. Also you might have to pull on your shifter a but. Not out of park, but there is enough free play to slide the piece off.

Thanks everythings apart and at the bodyshop now getting painted. I accidentally broked one of the little tabs removing it. I popped all 4 off with a screwdriver but i guess prying it out one popped back in place and failed to notice and broke it. Nothing little crazyglue wont fix though. I wanted to paint the knobs too but could only get 2 of them off. I think the top left one i would have to dissasembly the entire unit and didnt want to risk something breaking or not going back together completely.

Yeah the knobs took a bit to figure out to get off without any damage. A very small flat blade screwdriver was very helpful.
