What's the advantage to using such large rims and low-profile tires? Is it just for looks, or is there a handling improvement?

and what handling improvement could possibly come from putting bricks with tiny sidewalls on?

The wheels are only for looks.

Pretty much....

I dont find them as bad to drive around with as I originally assumed they would be. They are 20lbs heavier a corner exactly. 20's were 45lbs a corners and the stock 14's were 25lbs.
Slowing from high speed is lengthened slightly, from 50-70km not too bad.

The handling, even being ridiculously sized rims/tires is much better in my opinion! The low sidewall provides much better stability than the stocks, the stocks are horrible.

I wouldnt really recommend this size of tire/wheel, did it cause I could.

A nice set of 17's and performance tires would be amazing on these things.

The main complaint in handling from what Ive found is soft suspension (for my driving style) I would love to get a set of adjustable coilovers to tighten this thing up.

I think the only tires you can run with 20's are 30 series. I dont know where you can get anything lower pro than that (I know you can buy them I just dont know where)

I almost got 35 series rubber but the little bit of difference would have rubbed real bad.

do they rub now?

No rubing.. No Loving..
Of course they do, full turns with the 20" are not possible.

But otherwise there is no problem.

I sell tires for a living, and I was thinking about 20's on my Yaris... the lowest size I could come up with was 225-30-20 wich is a full 1.5 inches taller than stock.... they are coming up wiith new sizes everyday though.. we may soon see a 225-20-20 to better fit our cars..... shit they just came out with a 32 inch tire... you never know what they will come up with next

Ill post up pics later but the full lock rubbing should be able to be solved by 1) like Black Yaris says 20 series tires or 2) rolling the lower edge of the frame rail behind the strut tower. Like I said, Ill be posting up pics that clearly show what the problem is in running 20's and the simple solution, no harm will be caused by a 10 minute mod in rolling the edge about 1/2".

had to do some cutting on my blazer to fit the 22's, but it was def worth it!

what year Blazer spkrman? I had a 93 s-10 bagged layin frame on 215-35-18's an 87 beater blazer 2 DR 2WD dropped 6 inches and a 00 blazer 4DR 2WD dropped 6 in front and 8 in the rear rollin stocks... I sold my Blazer and bought my Yaris instead of buying wheels and baggin my Blazer

Anyone try and bag a Yaris yet?

I looked at a few different sets of bags more out of curiosity than anything else. In your opinion would it be worth while for my setup? Im only really concerned with the fact It really needs to be stiff.

Ive also looked a little deeper into my full lock rubbing issue. On the stock frame just above the A arm pivot on the drivers side is some type of hook. Anyone have any idea what this is for? Cause its gonna go. I have pics but left them at home (post them tomorrow - my net is down at home till wednesday)
