Heater Feet

My heater and A/C work fine in every setting and I have no issues with the defroster. However, when I have the arrow pointed to blow air below, I hardly feel any air. It feels like air is leaking from the top. Anyone else have this problem?

Take off your shoes and you'll feel the air flow below better.

There's always some air coming out of the upper vents when you have it turned to the bottom outlet.

The heater in the Yaris is a bit underwhelming; but considering that I am comparing it to a 4.0 I6 Jeep Wrangler heater that is not surprising. The latter is cranking out the heat almost as soon as I get to the end of the driveway, with my Yaris it will be several minutes down the road before I can even feel a slight indication of warmth.

I am just glad I live someplace where I don't need it too often, and if I didn't I would most definitely have gotten the cold weather package!

The A/C works a lot better than my 95 Civic but in the Civic, the heater for blowing hot air towards your feet was significantly better. It worked right away and in the Yaris, I wouldn't feel it after the car was already warmed up.

huh ? I have the cold weather pgk (with embiggened heater) and that thing will roast me in any weather.

As a point of interest... I've noticed from watching my Scangauge II that at idle the engine can't maintain more than about 160F-170F coolant temperature with the standard (non-heavy-duty) heater on high, in 40F-50F weather.

And having the heater on as the car warms up *substantially* delays the warm up time. That heater core makes for quite a radiator.

hey.. when the air is pointed down (to the feet) there's always some air that comes out from the windshield. I don't know if that's part of the cold weather package, but it did that on both my echo and my yaris.

it doesn't bother me though, cuz i know it will keep my windshield clear for a long time :)

That's normal in most cars.
