What size of grommet did you put in the hole before running the power wire?

#1. That is a factory hole in the firewall so i felt it would be alright w/out one.
#2. I did buy a grommet and planned on using it, but after a half hour of trying to get it on there and failing I said F**K it.

I'm surprised AA is still around... for awhile it looked like they were going away for good. I remember when they first started... and used to know the guy who designed their logo for them... Man, the first generation Avalanche 18 was a hella cool sub for HT duty....
I'm not buying that double stack motor concept... aaaa... i'll have to read up on their site sometime to see why they did that.

Sorry for being a noob, but, what does that volt meter do for you?
It's measuring your battery voltage, you want to know what that is so that when you're amp is drawing it's power you know what your voltage is dropping too. They even have some that plug into your cig lighter and give you a reading from there. If you're running a monster system 20 bucks is not a bad investment. My DMM (Digital Multi Meter ) Lives in my car.

I'll be happy to oblige! But dude, honestly, I don't think there's going to be much. The amp is rated for 7200 watts @ 1 ohm (13.8 volts), that's conservative. I'm gonna gain down to where I'm only drawing ~3500-4000. With the alternator and a couple batts, I'm not seeing much voltage drop in my near future.

unless your batts rest at 14volts or you have a 300amp alternator you will be seeing voltage drops.... even at 3500-4000rms. Remember, amps run most efficiently when they are running near full capacity.

You'll want more than just mat... you want to use expaning foam inside the pillars. Foam comes in a can, you spray it in, it expands, then hardens. Increasing rigidity will be more beneficial than adding weight (lowering ressonance frequency). Have to be careful with the foam tho, foam can bend the sheet metal if you are careful.

FOR SALE
150 / 320 amp DC Power Alternator!!!
My Stetsom amp can't handle the voltage the alt puts out guys. The regulator setpoint is set at 15 volt @ 2500+ rpm. Anything over 14.7 and the amp goes into protect. I'd rather get another alt than another amp. Love the Stetsom.
I'm not saying the DC alternator is s**tty, cause it's not. I'll be ordering from Rob at DC Power again, just gonna get a 270 XP
PM me for price and more details
It was only installed for a day and a half

Man, I been on the hunt for one this whole week. DC Power is not getting back to me, Irragi hasn't got back to me, Mechman says they have nothing. I'll try excessive amperage and MLA tomorrow. I really want to send it back to DC but Rob said to wait, he's working on it.
I got a comp in 3 weeks and I wanna win. Well see what happens.
I'll just say this, if I had the Sundown saz 3500d like I originally planed on, I wouldn't be having this problem.
Not saying anythig bad about Stetsom or DC Power though. Like I said, if I sell this alt I WILL order another alt from DC, just w/ a lower voltage setpoint.

That Amp Rack is gonna get carpeted and the box painted and stuff, but this is it at the moment
Got a question about boxing in the amp i have a similar build just that im placing the amps under the wood. would boxing them in that way over heat the amps? at the moment i drive around with out the wood floor on and wondering about the over heating issue..
Alot of you have more experience with this then me so what you think?

143.7 @ 37 hz was a little test run on the Term-LAB. My comp score (official) is a 144.3...not bad for a trunk car.
Did a little more work since the last post ( got a couple more additions also)

Simply amazing man, grats on the 144. I like the decals as well, no too over the top. :)
So did you get your Alt prob hammered out? An h/o alt is next on my list and Iraggi apparently went under. Let me know. :) I need about a 250a alt.

@ -slick Yeah bro, the alternator situation got squared away. I swapped my Stetsom amp for a Sundown and everythings fine now. I also upped my RPM's a little tonight so my voltage is looking really good. Get in touch w/ Rob over there at DC Power Engineering and he should be able to get you set up w/ something
@ - sickpuppy You know what man......thats crazy because i have never played IZ on the system yet. Im on it tomorrow

So the sundown is 15v+ capable? Out of curiosity, does the DC alt have the wire terminals that are ran on the stock alt? Or did you have to buy some sort of an adapter.
Again, great stuff. I just finished dropping roughly $1,500 on misc suspension and cosmetic upgrades. My next spending spree is going to re-upgrade my sub-stage.

slick - the alternator came "plug and play" man. The sundown amp is 15v capable. I had a friend running a crx w/ 16 volt batts and sundown amps. Throw up a build log when you start your sytstem bro:headbang:
