Hi all,

I am doing the sound deadening for my LB yaris. I think probably it is a convenient time to replace the front stock speakers.

So I found this pair on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-6-5-Inch-Coaxial-Speakers/dp/B000P0PF9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=car&qid=1268844335&sr=1-1

So I have 2 questions here.

1, Do you think if the new speakers will fit? I really hate cutting etc..
2, Do you think if I should get a new amp for the new speakers?

With a mounting depth of 2.31 inches, these speakers are fine to fit in the front doors.

I just replaced the speakers in my sedan. I made an adapter plate out of 1/2" wood for the front speakers and bought the adapters for the rear. I recommend buying the adapters. The OEM speakers a basically integrated altogether with the mounting to reduce cost and weight.

When I put the Alpine SPX-17REF in the front door, they were about 1/2" too deep. I put layers of sound dampening around the opening to create space.
