Hi,

I bought a keyless entry kit from Ebay. When I tried to install it, I realized that that kit was for powered door lock only which does not include any actuator. Since I can't return the kit, my questions are :

(1) if I get some aftermarket actuator, can I get it to work?
(2) If so, what type of actuator should I get?
(3) with the aftermarket actuator, where is the best position to mount it. I only plan to power the lock on driver's side.

My car is 07HB. The keyless entry kit is VIPER 211HV.

Thanks a lot.

Viper sells actuators too, although your best and easiest bet is to just jack the OEM equipment out of a wrecked yaris and put it in place. It'd be the easiest thing to do, both from an acquisitions standpoint as well as mounting location.

It is almost impossible for me to find the a wrecked yaris in my area. So I guess I have to find the aftermarket actuators. But I don't know too much about this stuff. Not sure if anyone will work or I need to choose a specific one with certain size/shape.

Check out this thread for a very similar discussion with info on the A-1 aftermarket actuators:
