Hi every body

I'm planning to buy some 18x7.5" Wheels for my hatchback Yaris

i heared that the Yaris come along with TRD 18*7.5"wheels
so I think there is no problem with the size

but what about the offset

the wheels that i wanna buy are +40

and here are some info. about the wheels

======================
4 X Incubus Black Wheels
Suit almosy all 4 & 5 Stud Cars
Size 18 X 7.5 Inch
Chrome Nuts

so do they fit my car or no (without modification)

what tire size do you recommend for the yaris

waiting for your replies

regards,
Ashraf

G'day

I'm using 18x7.5 on mine, with a 42mm offset. Tires are 215/35

I found there was a tiny bit of rubbing inside the wheel well at full lock, so you could do with a slightly wider stance.

Actually I just realized something, when they put in the new front brakes it spaced out the front wheels a little, and there's no more full-lock rubbing

When they did your BBK? What exactly did they replace with the BBK?...unless the had to put a wheel spacer in so the wheels would clear the calipers...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/mlsaint78/SMILEYS/umm.gif

i'm not very experienced in the wheels issue

(so you could do with a slightly wider stance) what do u mean by stance?

so what do u recommend that i do?

I'm no good at explaining stuff, so check out this link instead.wheel tech (http://www.1010tires.com/tech.asp?type=wheels#offset)

well from what i see there is no spacer, but the brake disc itself is probably a little thicker than stock, which makes it work like a spacer.

A wider stance would mean a lower offset, but I may be mistaken, always get confused by that

I would recommend 225-30-18, this size will keep the exact overall height as stock tires, plus a 225 width would fit very nicely on a 7.5 inch wide wheel, and 225's give a hugh handling upgrade

I am running the stock +38 offset and I am running a 7 inch wide wheel and I am fine.... +40 will move the wheel inward 2 mm, which would look better on a 7.5in wide wheel... you should have no problems at all

I have 215/40/18 and the same problem that etimago had. It's rubbing a little in a full lock. I had 225 tires in the back and rub some times. Maybe is better 205/35/18 to avoid problems. Because of some roads here in Puerto RIco is why I'am using 215/40/18. About the offset, sorry I don't now mine.

were you running a 225-30-18? because 215-40-18's are actually a taller tire than a 225-30-15.... I am running a 225-50-15 with no rubbing problems, wich is a hair taller than stock, where as 225-30-18 is the exact height as stock, long as you go with the propper offset +36 to +40 should be fine

This may sound stupid but my wheel / tire combo is WAY over stock - Im running a +40 offset on the wheels and 225/30/20 tire. I have full-lock rub (Ill be posting some pics later) If your going to run 18's with +38 offset and use a 215 tire with 30-35 series rubber you should be good. I have small amounts of rub on large bumps but thats probably due to the 80lbs of stereo in the back and having the whole family in the car (stock suspension doesnt help either)

to be exact your tire is a full 2 inches taller than stock, I also did the measurements to see if I can run 20's, but in all reality, ya'll have never driven on Michigan or Ohio roads.... you ain't runnin a 225-30 tire with out fuckin up a wheel and/or a tire everyother week, and that is being carful... I did the 215-35-18 thing on another car and i finally said fuck it, I was tired of buying new wheels... moral of the story, if you want 20's on a yaris, move to a place with realy good roads (aka no snow salt damage)

Ok Black Yaris, using 18 rims, what size of tire it's going to be near stock size. Thanks for your help. Ohh by the way I really don't understand the offset thing :frown:

18's closest to stock would be a 225-30-18 on a 18X7.5 wheel with a +38 offset... off set determines how far in or out the hub mounts, in referance to the center of the wheel..... if the hub is dead center is is a 0 offset - offset set the hub deeper in the wheel and + more shallower.....
