Congrats! That's quite the change. You'll feel it immediately.

Your should try the TWM shifter with the bushings first and THEN try the NST SSK. I've heard that having both of those on at the same time may be overkill and could even chew up your synchros.

Well, if you consider my mechanic to be real life information, then I guess that would be it. :respekt:

I offer no proof of this since I only have both SSKs and no TWM shifter, so take it with a grain of salt.

Eh your mechanic is mistaken. The SSKs don't change how far the cable moves, they merely change how far your hand moves to move the cable. His thought process is that you might shorten the throw so much so as to put constant tension on the cables but, again, an ssk won't do that. Resting your hand on the shift lever while driving with an ssk can though.

Update...so far the cage bushings are all that has gone in...they are significantly different than the stockers, and def tighten everything up. It's easier for me to get in to reverse now, and shifting doesnt feel as sloppy. They also raised the cage up about a 1/2" too.

TWM just installed in driveway, almost midnight here. Going to grocery store now to test out....more goodies coming over the next two days. :-)

Wow! Shifter feel is vastly improved, and throw is crazy better. Much more solid shift...def worth the cost. For those wondering why I paid for the TWM in lieu of the NST, I actually had the NST at one point, but it just attaches to the bottom of the stock lever and uses a set screw to hold the adapter in place. This creates a pivot point in the lever, which I viewed as both a weak link, and an open door for unnecessary shifter slop. Furthermore, i didn't want to be stuck on the side of the road/track, should the set screw ever come lose. Again, this is all perceived, and not actual experience, but I preferred to spend $114 on the TWM for the peace of mind.
