Wow, I'm truly impressed. What used to be one of the worst cars out there (1st gen), will now be among the leaders in the class - well actually the current plain-Jane one is already the best selling sub-compact in the US.

The article is speculating whether or not this in fact the Accent. It is a possibility that it's indeed the Elantra. The size would certainly suggest that.

there isn't too much breathing room when it comes to having a model stand alone anymore, is there?

Official pics released! Looks just like the Sonata, just smaller. Perhaps if too similar. I like it though.

Hyundai has been famous for stealing the visual ques from the other major players so this is not surprising at all...

Am I missing something? The only similarity is that they both have two headlights and a grill. :iono:

That is being released in Australia shortly as the i45, we're keeping the same model Sonata for the time being.

Personally, I couldn't agree more! There are some remarkable similarities in certain design aspects of the current Toyota Rav 4 and the Hyundai Santa Fe, previous model Mazda 3 and the Hyundai i30sx, the Honda Accord and the Hyundai Grandeur (Australian models)..

Good to see I'm not the only one that thinks the new "it's not a honda" sonata looks more than a little like the avalon's front end. As for the accent I'd say that is definitely an elantra-the current one has been out forever and way over priced for it's old design. Of course, to me, this "new" design looks like a stretched face last generation civic. I just hope they get rid of the old school seat belt dinger bell-the excact same sounding one I had in my '88 Excel. It's 2010 hyundai, time to update-it's not that endearing of a feature.

Most of huyndai and Kia lately models is look like copy catch with a Kia and huyndai emblem stick on. I don't like it sonata look like buick and Avalon and two Kia small suvs look exactly like Mercedes vs Volvo. Can they design their own style?

Well hyundai has figured out the equation of the average consumer, allow them to feel like they are driving a car that costs double its actual cost.

That came out about 5 years ago. KIA and Hyundai are light years ahead of that now.
The new KIA Optima...
What does THIS copy???

Ford Fusion? look again
That's the biggest stretch comparison I've ever heard.
The two cars couldn't look more different.
