Ok guys i posted about this in my regions section.
Ok guys,

This is a feeler to see what people think about a LONG trip convoy or possibly for even more grins a Cannonball Run!! I'm thinking summertime from the DFW to something amazing like Yellowstone for some completely different extremes in driving from what we are used to here in the Lone Star. Suggestions for dates or if anyone would even be able to pull this off at all. If its not at least 6 cars in im not going to bother unless anyone wants to go camping with me in the mountains and i might reconsider if its set in stone, spit shaken, and promised no back outs. I think this forum needs a trip of epic proportions. Seriously guys, lets do something awesome... I'm willing to even go all the way to hang out with our canadian brothers if people are in.... I have 2 weeks of vacation that I will never end up using and i would like to have something to show for it. I'm pretty darn partial to hoofin it to Yellowstone but alone will be poo poo. I'll host as far as finding routes for the trip and coordinating this.

Does anyone have a desire to have a huge get together as much as i do??:iono:

If discussion is started now then between the people from most of the regional forums could get it planned out. This would be something awesome that we could give back to the forums. Put in some comments and lets get a head count on who has the ability to do this. I'm sure most people wont be able to but if we could even get a total of 20-30 Yarii's out there then we win. I chose Yellowstone for a central location because it seemed like a nice place that everyone would be able to travel to and no one feel like they are traveling a heck of a lot further than the other. I would assume that our Canadian brothers to the north could even hook up in the convoy. These things tend to sizzle out before they even are given any thought so lets not let that happen. Put your input good or bad but keep the discussion healthy and no flaming.:respekt:

Import Alliance is it for me this year. See if you can tie your idea into that meet.

Would love to but I work a seasonal job, paving contractor, and we are just gearing up for the season. But its a great idea.

id honestly like to keep this seperate from other meets as this complicates things too much. how many guys you got going to that event though? maybe tieing in on the return from that meet you might be able to hook up with us.

make it portland and sure... i'll be there. I think 99% of the regulars would show if the meet occurred within a 100 mile distance of their house.... anything further and that percentage will drop like a rock.

Seriously, this is hard for most people, mainly due to how spread out our country is. even if you were to hold it smack dab in the center of our country... where would that place it... kansas, nebraska? It's still a VERY long drive for those on either coast.

I think the best way to go about this is to do a east meet, central meet, and west meet. focus on say a 5-8 state area, and understand that many people will still be too far away to justify the costs or time away from work needed for them.

how does it do that?

well, anyways, didn't mean to argue, just trying to maximize your changes of setting it up successfully, since there is already a big meet planned.

Good Luck!
Great concept but just too far abroad meaning too many mile$ & vacation day$ invested for me to even consider.

Meet up in omaha or kansas city. 2 worthwhile cities right in the middle of the states.
