Rubber suggestion

I need to purchase some new tires for my rims.

Currently I have:
Yokohame AVS ES100 (205/45 R17) on OZ Superturismo rims

The tires had good traction but made too much noise and had uneven tread wear.

I do a lot of city and highway driving, I am looking from some rubber that will last and not make too much noise.

Any suggestions?

i had fuzion zri's on my camaro...much more quiet than eagle gsc (crap tires), yoko's, and bridgestones.

cooper is a good tire, and i'm shocked you're having problems with yoko's. wear issues any way, do you have it lowered? did you check the alignment? if you're feathering it may be a shock/spring issue, not a tire issue.

Lower-profile tires will make noise, so you will have to get used to it. And like severous01 says, get that alignment done (FYI, the alignment guy may require you to get new tires before service if the worn sections are completely bald, for your own safety).

Uneven tread wear is could be an alignment issue, balance issue, inflation issue or simply due to lack of regular tire rotation. Purchasing a non-unidirectional tire will allow more options come rotation time thus extending life. Otherwise you must flip and remount the tires on the rims to move them across to the opposite side of the car.
You can use the tire comparison tool at TireRack.com to see the rating of many fine tire choices. Noise level is one of several criteria indicated. NOTE: the US tire prices will either make you cry or very angry.
Simply select your tire size and search, then select the tires of interest and press compare. Include your current tire as a baseline.
