Well, here they are. Konig 16" rims with 205/50R16 tires. They are so quiet compared to my winter tires. I have to set the volume lower than normal now and I can actually hear myself talking to people while driving  I forget the brand of the tires... I'll check when I'm done work and update when I get home. Here's a shot after just cleaning everything up. I'm pleased with how they look

 Awesome! That's what I was thinking. It was a total fluke how I got them too... I was searching on Kijiji and found them listed for $250.... yes, for all four of them. I felt like taking a chance so I asked if he'd let them go for $200. He said yes! So I got all 4 for $200. Only a little bit of road rash; not noticeable unless you are right up to them. No dents, no bends. They keep air perfectly. The original owner sold them to his friend for $300 because he just got laid off and needed the money. Then the second owner got a new car and they didn't fit. So his father just wanted to get rid of them because they were taking up space in their basement. I felt like was ripping him off when I picked them up.

nice buy
typically, when people list stuff on kijiji, there's a buffer of price in there....i know thats how i price stuff
everyone likes to feel like they get a deal
sounds like you got a REALLY good deal though!

AWESOME.
$50 per wheel alone would have been a good deal. Bonus that you got some pretty decent looking rubber as well. Nicely done.
Gotta get that sucker sitting closer to the ground tho. That is some crazy wheel gap. Made me think the tires where actually 45s, not 50s.

Sorry for the delay, the new rubber are Sumitomo. I've never heard of them before...
About the drop... I might just take a few pictures of some of the roads around here. Let's just say it's bad enough that there's a Facebook group regarding the pot holes in Halifax.
Also the price... isn't the hardware to drop a car pretty expensive?

I got my TRD springs for $300 (CDN) and installed them myself. You could probably find a cheaper brand.
As for the potholes, the lower profile wheels are more of an issue than lowering it a bit.

Where did you get those from?

Oreagan's Toyota Dartmouth. I ordered them using the part number from TRDUSA website. Took about 3 days for them to arrive from Toronto.

just get trd springs shipped from the states....they're 165usd (which is par right now with the canadian dollar). shipping weight is about 25lb, iirc, and isnt likely to break 200usd shipped to NS
even w/ duty and brokerage (but get them to ship US post, not ups) you're not going to see 300CAD + hst

Thanks guys for the pricing insight! I'll add it to my list =)
And thanks redglare45; I got them off e-bay from a Canadian deal in Ontario I think. Had to get a harness from Garm though and then do some other rewiring to get them to work the way I wanted (rocker switch that only works when ignition is on [not accessory power] and they don't shut off when I turn my high beams on. And the indicator is on the dash).

Sumitomo tyres have been around for a long time. They make some very decent tyres.

That's actually really good to hear. I was a bit afraid because I got them from a surplus place and thought they might be a bit sketchy. Thanks kimona!
