Well first for those who haters please leave us alone.
Just got this last night 16gb.
A little bit about my info, i'm not a big apple fan, but i found that a few of Apple products make my life easier, example iphone and mac, and now the IPAD.
I'm using my window 7 at works, love it, i got mac at home love it too.
A few impression and cons about it.

1. This thing is light, i mean really light, Beautiful screen, and real real fast, i mean i thought CHROME on my window 7 is fast but the SAFARI is really fast on the IPAD.
2. My girlfriend like to read ebooks, and this is perfect for her, and while our baby is due in May so this will keep her busy while staying in bed. Anyways, you guys don't have to buy EBOOKS from ibook or kindle, what i did is find an ebook from google in pdf file, use Calibre in Mac to convert it to EPUB and then import in into the IPAD, and it's show up in the ibook library wooden case looking in the IPAD real nice. So yeah alot of ebooks for FREE even a new one.
3. Most of the time when i'm grab my laptop is either for NEWS or weather, so this is amazing on the IPAD. I believe 80% of peoples who bought a laptop is either for Web Browsing or youtube. so why not grab the IPAD for alot lighter and faster.
4. Youtube video look HD on it.
5. Peoples complaint about FLASH? I hardly care about it. Since the reason i bought the IPAD is for news, ebooks and web browsing and youtube and games.
6. The battery is 91% when i first turned on, playing on it for about 3 hours with 2 hours of videos, put it to sleep last night, woke up this morning the battery is at 82% so yes, it's very good.
Cons.
Ipad will not replace my window or macbook. but it's make my life easier at home and works, i will be able to surf the web and read the news faster while drinking coffee or eating breakfast and still able to hold it on my hand.
At work i can use it's as a calendar appointment book, picture frame...
I think the money is very well spending, depend on how you look at it.
I can't wait to jailbreak it cause it's even more fun.
Excuse my gramma, not to good at writing. Thank You

Hi Jamal,

I grabbed one as well. Here's a thread that I posted on my initial experiences:
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26933

I haven't had any of the WiFi issues, mentioned in PK's post, with mine or my wife's.

Here's a few comments on apps that I've been experimenting with thus far:

Paper notepad replacement apps: WhiteNote and SketchPad HD. There are certain things that I like better about each. Neither is as good as MS OneNote on a Windows based Tablet PC, but they are reasonable paper notepad replacements.

Document handling apps: GoodReader - Excellent app for transferring and viewing PDF, MS Office and IWorks files.

Games: Real Racing HD - Great game for demonstrating the capabilities of the iPad. Air Hockey Gold - Free, simple and fun.

Calculator (I was surprised that the iPad didn't have one built in): PCalc Lite - Best freebie one so far.

Scott , is your router Dual Band or Single?

Mine are Cisco 1200 series Access Points, with 802.11 A/B/G all active. My house is about 3500 sq ft, so I have one AP in the mechanical room in the basement (under one end of the house) and a second in my office (which is a separate building attached to the garage on the other end of the house).

On Sunday I was at a relative's house, using it out on his deck, communicating to an ancient 802.11b Linksys AP that was on the second floor at the opposite end of his house from the deck.

So i guess the problems reported have more to do with poorly placed APs rather than the IPad itself. Are you able to see what chipset NIC is the Ipad using for the wifi?
Your APs are not consumer grade so that gives a significant boost to the signal, although if your relative is using a B standard device that really makes the reported problem look like an end user problem rather than Ipad specific.

It uses the Broadcom BCM4329 for WiFi and Bluetooth, which is a good chipset. My understanding is that there are two issues; one is weak signal, due to the location of the antenna within the device, and the other is with APs using WEP, without broadcasting the SSID. The iPod Touch also has issues with the latter.

I heard in a couple of years they are going to put a camera and make the memory alot bigger on the Ipad

I bet they'll do those two things plus more, and sooner than in a couple of years.

They just have to wait long enough for the initial enthusiasm to blow off and then reel the fanboys in again

No lack of wifi or problem with it. Never dropped while on wifi. My Safari connect real fast. Press the home button slide to unlock press safari and it's connect right away, really impress with it, i can woke up in the morning and connect to internet in almost less than 3 second.
I'm using the old apple router the shape look like Hershey? My house is around 3000sqft. I did try to walk outside around the house and it's still show full level.
I don't find the iPad is hard to read outside there is brightness u can adjust. Unless u want to read it directly under the sun? Who and why want to do that? If u sit under the tree NO problem at all.

I picked up a 32GB 3G a couple weeks ago. I'm very happy with it.
My only complaint is there isn't an option for profiles. I have it setup for me, bookmarks, email, etc... and everyone wants to play with it. That way my wife could have her own profile with her mail configured and I could have a guest one for when others want to use it. The way it is now, the iPad is definately a personal device.
I'm still not used to typing on it yet.
