this was mentioned on echodrivers.com to me this morning and i havent looked in my engine bay yet to check, but how close do the shifter cables come to the header?

i installed a dc on the weekend and someone mentioned i should move/ziptie them out away from the header as they may be affected by the additional head of an unsheilded header

i don't recall seeing the cables near the header, but could anyone confirm/deny their location and whether an unsheilded header would affect them on a yaris (vs an echo)

I don't remember them being particularly close to the header. I can't be of much help though, unless JR brings his yaris to work.

Having spent enought time ripping the skin off my arms yesterday I would say everything is close in the engine bay of a Yaris. That being said there is enough clearance that there shoudln't be any issues.

Does the question pertain to a Yaris or an Echo?

It's been a while since I did mine, but I'm pretty sure there was a bracket that holds the shifter cables away from the header anyway. As long as they're not touching the header it will be fine.

*Edit* I just looked at it and the shifter cables are about 8" away from the header. The 02 sensor wire is close, but it's shielded, has a brace holding it away from the header, and it was always there anyway.
