Does anyone know of a good site they prefer where you can look at samples of cover letters and resumes?
I want to overhaul my resume a bit, not sure where to start
I know there are places where you can upload resumes online (like Monsters.com, LinkedIn, etc) but I was more looking at some writing and page-set up tips.
thanks for any input.

What do you do for a career? That makes a huge difference. I can tell you that I decided to bite the bullet and paid someone to rebuild mine and the offers more than tripled to include many offers literally with salary and benes sight unseen other than the resume.

I'm going to apply for an internship in IT for the summer and I've been procrastinating re-doing my resume and writing a cover letter just because I'm not sure how to properly do one in the first place, especially the cover letter.
So I'm with tomato, anybody got any tips or links to good samples?

I'm an employer. I don't really care about the format.
NO TYPOS OR POOR ENGLISH ON A RESUME, EVER!
I don't care what your B.A. is in -- it didn't prepare you to work for me.
Be thorough. Be direct. Be clear. Include skills that aren't obviously relevant to the job application. At the same time, modify each application for the specific job you want.
** SAY you want the job (in the resume and especially in the interview). Say why you want it.
If you think your resume is weak, the paragraph you add about yourself and why you'd be a terrific employee or team player is CRITICAL. It's what I look at first.
*** FOLLOW UP after you submit it. "Is there any additional information I can provide you?" "Can you tell me when interviews might be scheduled?" "Just letting you know I'm still available and still want the job".
^ THAT is impressive.

Couldn't'a said it better than that! ^^
I've hired many people over the years and your resume and cover letter are
going to tell me exactly the kind of worker you are going to be.
i used monster a lot, but even still having other people look at it and make suggestions are the best, especially if you know people who have any experience hiring.
heh, my sister, her husband, and his mother basically rewrote my resume, hopefully i'll get some better luck.

I found this site to be quite helpful when I re-wrote my resume and did up some cover letters recently... After a few years of it sitting! It also has some good examples.
