Recently installed an AFE intake. CEL came on after about 100 miles. Disconnected battery and cel went away for another 100 miles. Had code checked and came up with p0101 MAF sensor failure. Codes were cleared then cel came back on after about 30 miles. Have checked previous posts. Not many have posted if they fixed this.Any suggestions? Hoses are tight and the MAF is tight and appears to be seated properly.

possible that you damaged the MAF sensor during the installation? Have you tried the DIY on how to clean the MAF sensor?

The problem I was having was caused by the spacers under the MAF sensor. I installed the MAF without the spacers and that cured the problem. You just have to be very careful and not over tighten the screws.

Mine does'nt have a spacer to begin with, even w/ the stock intake.

AFE supplies spacers to put under the maf screws to prevent people from over tightening them and pulling the threaded inserts out of the intake

did you use the foam seal on the maf that came with the kit? you may want to get some 1/4" thick foam and cut a new gasket. my bolts came out (the nut part in the plastic came loose). i have to zip tie my maf down against the seal.

yes I used afe's foam gasket. I called the factory and talked to them. Removing the spacers was their suggestion. You have to be very careful not to over tighten the screws

What I found is the screws that they supplied was too long. I replaced the shorter screws and took out the spacers for a week now. It does not find P0101 any more. Thanks rihdrkc.:w00t:

I just put the aFe intake on my 2012 SE. The heat shield fits OK-you just need to bend it a bit but it clears the hood, etc. Also, there is a vaccumm hose mount on my '12 that is not included in the aFe tube. I just zip tied it out of the way.

On topic, I got the P0101 CEL code and someone kindly pointed me to this thread. Glad YW forums are here! Great resource!
