Tempe tyres would be my 1st place of call for cheap and mainstream rims...

I myself got Lenso Superlight (7kg per rim) 17' from them with Kumho tyres and its all sweet...

Or you could try and get light weight japanese rims. But generally normal 16's weigh around 14+kg for rim and tyre.

Freight from South Africa to Australia would (unfortunately) be absolutely prohibitive!

Perhaps give Tempe Tyres a try. I have never bought anything through them, but from browsing their website they have some amazing wheel/tyre packages available, and they can deliver if you live outside the Sydney area. Perhaps if you shoot them through an email they could tell you the weights. Hopefully someone here has bought stuff through them and can say whether they're any good to go through. Here's the website for you: http://www.tempetyres.com.au/

Oh yeah i brought from them as mention in my previous post...

if they are doing deliveries to you and they dont have stock, make sure you do call them up after a week or so to make sure they havent forgotten about u...

check the tyres if they are put the right way... (mine was put on the wrong way... lol)

you can bagain with them but less likely if you only buy 2 sets from them...

they usually offer you 2 choice of tyres, for me it was Falken or Kumho, i choose the Kumho and tbh found it better than the previous Falkens...

Thanks for the input guys,
As my car is the 1.3L YR, im still deciding between 15s or 16s, as the 15s design are more appealing to me. However, if i get the 15s, i probably will want to drop it later on as it will sit quite high. So yeah still deciding :iono:

Whether you go 15's or 16's, if you get the correct size tyre, the car will not go lower or higher, it will stay the same. So whether you decide on 15's or 16's, you'll want to drop it as the OEM height gap is huge.. haha

The OEM tyre sizes are:
15" - 185/60R15
16" - 195/50R16 (just note it's a very expensive tyre size).

Would the 205/50/16 be a cheaper option than the 195/50/16 then?
And what would the wider tire benefit in general?:help:
