Steering feel tighter on 205/55/15?

Will changing to 205/55/15 from 185/65(60?)/15 make the steering feel tighter? I love the light feel of this baby! Can anyone experiencing this tell me please!

This happened when I changed from 17" AMG's to basic 15's for a while on my E320 years back it became lighter and when I went back to my 17"s with bigger tires, it became tighter.

On my Echo it does for sure.

185/60/14 in the winter.
205/40/16 in the summer.

Edit: In my case, more road feel, tighter, and follows the road with the 205s. Slightly more effort to dry steer (though I try to minimize that as it's harder on the pump).

Are you talking about tighter...as in handling better? Or are you saying tighter...as in a higher steering effort?

It's definitely harder to steer when you have more rubber sticking to the road. It's just friction doing it's job. :wink:

I think he means "heavier," i.e. harder to steer but better stability at speed and around corners...

And the answer is 'yes.'

Oh sorry for my poor explanation...

I meant harder feel of the steering wheel. I know that cornering and stability are so much better, had floored my Benz at 220 Kmph many times for highway journeys and loved the stability and traction, even in rain and sand on roads.

I just don't want the steering wheel to feel tighter/harder.

I changed from the stock crappy "tombstones" to Yokohama s-drives size 195/55-15. They are summer tires and are an improvement in handling, noise and do not make a noticeable difference in the steering effort. I imagine another notch of width will not overload the power steering either.
