I've known for some time that my tails have been leaking in rainwater and even during car washes.... I've been leaving it and leaving it saying "I'll let it dry out so I can seal it back up..." well They've been dry for some time now and I had more than a few chances to do it, but yesterday night a giant summer t-storm came through and poured down inches upon inches of heavy rain....

I woke up and this is what I found after being dry for some time.

Luckily enough when I beat on the corner which has the water, the water seeps out of the seal and drips out.....

Why wait for them to dry? You should open them up, clean off the inside of the lens, and replace the sealant. That way all of the water is removed and you can get rid of water spots inside.

Why I will never go with replica headlights or tails. No problems with my used TYC tails from ebay so far.

But I agree, get those suckers off dry or not, clean, and reseal!

It's funny because my tails are now getting water in them as well (same side). Even after sealing ... I think next time I will go OEM.

Unless I just don't know how to seal lol

Those last two pictures look like your Yaris is crying.

lol yeah, im just afriad to bake them.... it seems harder than it probably is.... also that right light (as some of you may know) has short lengths of wiring to work with, since I may have to cut the wires, I dont want to mess with trying to disconnect them and rewire as well as trying to bake them..... eh maybe one day ..... :)til then I will just dry them out and reseal and deal with small water spots.

and I have nothing against these replicas except the leaking problems..... otherwise they have been good to me :)

Is this a common issue with the Yaris?

What conditions deteriorate the sealant on the headlights?

It's not a problem with original tail lights.... simply just a problem with replica RS tail lights which are aftermarket tail lights.

I loved my brother's response to a fix for the problem, he said ....

That would actually be pretty damn awesome, except when the fish dies.

Or the TYCs I bought new! They're great tails, and not that expensive. Sparks has them for $99 (p/n PTS25-52061)!
