Summers here!!~~

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4601438959_a3870508ba.jpg

I want you (NorCalVitz/iosClub members, NorCal people, and new comers to decide between the selected options I've discussed w/ Advocate and a few other members......

Choose between the four options, if "other" is chosen, please give a location you'd like to have a meet in and provide what city it is in~

I will be monitoring this every other day and tally up the votes..

DEADLINE to place you're vote is JUNE 10th...June 11th I will make an announcement on final meet place...details of what is going on etc~

Also if you guys/gals are going on vacation around this meet day, let me know so i can work around your schedule...as I too will be going on vacation~lol

Thank You

I voted southbay, we can hit 17 mile dr, but I am down for a BBQ wherever.

Kioshi
05-21-2010, 08:47 PM
cool, only problem is...i dont have a portable bbq grill. I know sean, and I, and others can get ribs and stuff from Lucky's, Safeway, etc....but we aren't entirely the BBQ experts LOL~

I got that covered, they should have named me BBQ haha

Kioshi
05-21-2010, 09:16 PM
hhaha! I think we're set on the food topic then, Thanks Ric :D

I'm going to PM a few new people from the last meet to see if they want to come.
Anyone can bring whoever they want to. Friends, kids, wife, etc. Just a friendly hangout, chatting, fun, and stuff...

MiniTRD

how about something NOT south bay

MiniTRD
05-21-2010, 10:06 PM
how about something inland? Sacramento and surrounding areas have great drives and scenery.

05-22-2010, 05:34 PM
Clark, what if we could get Garm to show up ? Would you be willing to drive down, then?

@Kioshi, I'm gonna try to make this meet. The idea of driving to Caramel beach makes me salivate (just kidding ) BBQ hang out sounds pretty good! :headbang:

We just drove 800 miles to LA and back and the meet before last was in Sacramento!

It's time to have a local Bay Area meet again.

^ sounds good to me, but I'll just follow the bbq smell ;)

Taylor drove the furthest, me 2nd. So we need something like North Bay LOL. Gotta start recruiting north bay people.

Sean, hahaha, you gotta think about all of the meets. Almost all were in the Bay Area. I think two were in Sac. My vote goes to having an RPM meet and bbq. What's funner than driving fast go-karts and eating after (or before)? Qualifying and race. Sounds extremely fun to me.

advocate
05-24-2010, 03:56 AM
It does. Although in all fairness a big meet like this should probably be somewhat centralized.

I think we needa start having two kinds of meets and defining them well:
1) local bay area meets, maybe bi-weekly
2) Nor Cal meets, maybe bi-monthly?

This is definitely going to be #2.

Kaotic Lazagna
05-24-2010, 04:06 AM
lol, centralized would be Vallejo (although not much to do here, and it's a bit ghetto). I suppose if it were in Vallejo, we can go to Marine World (what ever it's called now, I grew up with it being called Marine World, lol), and eat at Applebees later in the night. I think that would be family-oriented, but costly (at least for me). I say Vallejo is centralized because it's an hour away from Sac (actually an hour and a half from where I live in Rancho Cordova), and 45 minutes away from SF, 1 hour from Union City/Fremont.

Kaotic Lazagna

What is this summer meet anyway, a local meet or a NorCal meet?

Kioshi
05-24-2010, 05:06 PM
I didn't mean to stir up conflicts for you Sacramento people...

I saw meets happening in Japan as a monthly kind of thing, and SoCal would never drive up to us....so i thought, why not stir our own Yaris commotion up North...~Have fun, talk, watch a movie, etc...

Thats ALL i want...

Please do consider this one factor (EVERYONE:

Back in early 2008, Kaotic and I tried our best to gather people up for Yaris Meets....so many threads started w/ very few interest being taken...even though there were Yaris owners in Northern California area posting on here...where they went to now, i dont know~~

And now that we have some awesome meets happening/have happened...people are fussing over about driving a 50-150 miles. NorCal is FULL of lazy people. Kaotic, Advocate, and I know this. If we don't push something, nothing ends up happening!

In Japan, they have people from Nagoya, Gifu, and upper parts of Kyoto, drive up to Sakuragichou (Yokohama) and Chiba (Tokyo areas) to meet up for one huge Yaris meet...and i think they just drive to meet up, not even have a cruise or anything~~ That's roughly 350 miles for the people driving from Nagoya to the Tokyo areas...
A guy from Gifu going Ishikawachou area (Yokohama for SAC Cherry Blossom Festival Vitz Meet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOisjKj9OyQ&playnext_from=TL&videos=TEB6Uui9oME

Sean - Kaotic is right that all the meets prior to the first Calaveras run, before Yaris Sedan was even on here....contraband321, kaotic lazagna, and a guy from vacaville use to come to Milpitas meets w/ other high performance cars...and this was a 9~10pm meet time...BUT, i do want something in the vicinity of Ric, this time around~ Especially, since he has generously offered to BBQ for us all. I want a picnic/beach meet going around this time :)

Sean - I agree w/ you about defining meets from now on. We can have official NCVC meets once every 2-3 months. local bay area meets once a month, i think?

Kaotic - i see what Sean is saying as well and agree w/ him. We just busted 900+ miles a few weeks ago and the last being in Sac.
And I totally like your Go-Karts and BBQ idea. What's the address to the RPMlocation Laz? You have a PM coming shortly ;)

Clark/MiniTRD - I want to try to have a variation for every meet, not cruises all the time. The owner of the Camry guy suggested....we mix things up. And that's where i talked w/ Kaotic and he talked about the Go-Karts idea.

I will try my best to accommodate everyone's needs on here, as much as possible.

NOTE to the remaining 3 that voted SouthBay Beach idea.....can you please identify yourselves to me, via PM or by posting on here??
I can't see who voted....i know contrband321 and Advocate voted for that one....

I voted for HWY 1/9, but I am not counting it because i thought if i voted, i would see the peoples names, who voted for what, but can't...at all~

****For Everyone Clarification: This is not a local meet, this is an Official NCVC Meet****

Sorry I forgot what I voted for. =/
I was planning on driving up and I might do it when you guys have the meet so I can have my random, out of LA meet of the year :D

Kioshi
05-24-2010, 06:07 PM
^ haha, all good, I'm going to take a wild guess it was SouthBay Santa Cruz/Carmel Beach~17 Mile Drive since...that would be pretty close from where you are comin.

Rain
05-24-2010, 06:16 PM
Do you have a tentative date?

Kioshi
05-24-2010, 06:21 PM
Since the poll ends June 10th, I'm looking at these weekends, July 17th..18th, July 24th..25th..

This will give everyone roughly 4 weeks to request time off, get permissions from their gf/wives, etc...to come.

Rain

Sounds good

KL: can't wait to maybe finally meet you LOL

Kaotic Lazagna
05-24-2010, 08:31 PM
Which of the locations is closest to Ric? He's been driving the furthest to the meets, so we should make it as near him.

As for RPM:
3130 Bradshaw Road
Sacramento, CA 95827
(916) 368-7223

I'm not fussing about the location, just wanted to even out the number a bit . However, I'd like the next meet to just be a chill out meet, not a cruise. I know Sean has been wanting me to take pics of his car for the longest time now, and having a cruise eats up time. hahaha.

I know Sean has been wanting me to take pics of his car for the longest time now, and having a cruise eats up time. hahaha.

I am definitely guilty of this.

I voted So Cal to bring the homie Ric back into the picture, plus he offered to BBQ and I know personally the only thing I can cook is cereal.

Kioshi
05-25-2010, 03:20 AM
how do you cook cereal??

I'll go wherever, I've been out for a lil bit because my wife had our baby girl, but I'm down for north bay, south bay, or Sac, lets just do this and plan the next one haha!!! I"ll bring the burgers and all the fixen, shoot I'll probably smoke some ribs 4 for u guys... NCVC needs to rep..

Kioshi
05-31-2010, 11:19 AM
Thank you Ric.

^^Bump^^

Since I haven't seen any more new votes on the poll, why don't we throw in which of these dates work best for you guys/gals...?

July 17th or July 18th?
July 24th or July 25th?

I'll keep track!

My vote goes for July 17th~ How about everyone else?

Rain
05-31-2010, 02:19 PM
July 17th or 18th for me :D [whichever date has more votes]

Pur_Blu
06-05-2010, 01:45 AM
I guess i can put in my two cents on the vote...

ANYTIME
ANY PLACE
ANYTHING GOES

Im down for whatever. I drive all over so any location is fine with me as long as i know in advanced which this thread is for so all areas are covered. A BBQ style meet will work without a portable grill as long as its at a park with the grill pits...

As far as the date goes time of day?? im sure its best for a saturday if people wanna grill and chill. The friday meets seem to be the late evening so the best you can get picture wise is under the available parking lot lights.

advocate
06-05-2010, 07:16 PM
Definitely voting on a Saturday. I work late Fridays now...

Hey so I just drove my Yaris from Maryland to Monterey and I've been looking to go to a meet once I moved to Cali (we really don't have a lot off huge Yaris fans around me back home)... would this meet be open to everyone (for example me?)

I mean I haven done any mods to Yoshi (thats his name) but I think it would be great to meet a bunch of Yaris fans in this area.

Kioshi
06-05-2010, 11:23 PM
Welcome bkndacn! This meet is open to anyone.

No worries, we all meet to hangout, talk, and have a good time.

Ok everyone....

I'm going to throw this meet date on July 17th. Theres about 5 weeks to get this day off.

I apologize if I may have missed anyone's questions previously.

I will post an official detailed thread of this meet...the time and everything else will be included in it! 7 votes for SouthBay. The gathering will be held around the 17 mile drive/Caramel Beach. We will all meet up before hand somewhere (i will mention in the official thread), and then we all drive there together.

If anyone has financial difficulties...I'm willing to pay for your gate entrance fee.

list of what you want AND WANT to bring to the BBQ/Yaris Meet
Please copy and paste, thank you~

contraband - portable bbq grill, burgers?
kioshi - bags of chips...maybe ribs if you guys want some?

Kaotic Lazagna
06-08-2010, 01:07 AM
Wait, what entrance fees!? Money's a little tight for me right now since it's the summer, and I still have to buy new tires (at 2/32's right now and I'm going to ride them until I absolutely have to get tires).

advocate
06-08-2010, 04:39 PM
think the entrance fee is $9 at 17 mile drive.

let's try and find a free public beach assad?

bkndacn
06-08-2010, 04:50 PM
Kaotic: there is a gate fee at 17 mile drive i think its like 15$ ... not a bank Breaker, I think its because it goes into Pebble Beach...

Kioshi: Thank you! I'm Super excited! I just recruited a beautiful girl (aka one of my friends) to model with my car while we take pics... thats not too tacky right? lol

where can I find the official thread? have you put it up yet? if not then maybe thats why I cant find it...

eeeeeeek, entrance fee? I rather use that money for gas.... :(

Rain

how about somewhere where we don't have to pay for entrance?

advocate

how about somewhere where we don't have to pay for entrance?

this is what I was trying to suggest earlier but failed horribly at communication. work has me typing more and more abridged sentences it seems.

scrapping 17 mile drive and finding a public beach that's free and deserted seems like a great idea.

contraband831
06-09-2010, 01:33 AM
well i believe we can BBQ at Carmel Beach, no entrance fee, but parking is limited.

Alameda beach has tons of free parking, is pretty much always empty and you can barbeque, and there are picnic tables. The only downside is there are no great driving spots even remotely in the area.

I'm done taking care of business for this month....so,

The official date now has been set in stone for July 24th...

Beach: Davenport is very deserted...not a lot of people. It will be a beach to ourselves.
Seabrite, kind of small, parking is sometimes hard to find.

This is the closest Address to DavePort Beach - http://www.cleanbeachescoalition.org/cgi-bin/map.cgi?cleanup_beach=5

Here's some customer reviews of the place - http://www.yelp.com/biz/davenport-beach-davenport

SeaBrite beach address - http://www.zvents.com/santa-cruz-ca/venues/show/930136-seabright-beach
No alcohol permitted on SeaBrite...just an FYI~

I'm leaning towards DavenPort just because its a bit secluded and we can do whatever we like...

I'll be posting the final thread tomorrow after 5pm...FOR CERTAIN (w/ a list of who wants to bring what, how many are going, etc). So if you prefer one over the other, speak up now.

Please post what beach you would perfer.

Thank You,

- Kioshi
