View Full Version : Mud guards?

To fix the issue I have with rocks coming up and scraping my rocker panels, I am looking at the newer mudguards that come on 2008+ Yarii. These are the front ones that hug the bottom of the rocker panel, and also on the rear, have a small rock blocker thing that goes before the rear bumper cover.
After I get these installed I am hoping they will reduce the rock damage by a lot - otherwise I am afraid rust will start eating away at my poor car.
I couldn't find the part #'s for these as my local Toyota dealer had no idea what I was talking about.
Any help would be appreciated.

2008-2010 Yaris LB - PT769-52090
2008-2010 Yaris Sedan - PT769-52061
Tell your local Dealer to pull his head out and check the Yaris accessory literature that is in every dealership. Google works really well also.

Thanks a lot. I did try google but I wasn't sure if they were the older style mudguards like I have already, or the newer one's.

Sorry, I meant, the dealer should use it if he can't find info within his dealership, after all, you might buy them from him then.

Here is the Sparks Toyota website:
http://www.trdsparks.com/
I am thinking about them for my 2009. However the part number seems to
be slightly different. Anyway, if you go to the main page above, then you
will see a search box for your particular model and year. The price seems
pretty good to me, though I haven't inquired at my dealership. Then again
I see you are in Canada, so perhaps there is a shipping issue/charge?
QUESTION for those who have installed these:
Since the screws go through the body, do we have to worry about rust
developing on the screws? They are self-tapping and drilling is optional,
according to the directions.

Here are the pics of the one's I need ... maybe I will just go to the dealership and get these part numbers on Monday if I can find a reliable person ...
Under the rocker panel there is a plastic bar that goes the length of the panel:

The rear just before the wheel, a little plastic blocker:

The front, hugging the panel:

Nah, chances are slim to none on finding a 2008+ Yaris in a junkyard around here. I would rather just buy these parts new, just need to find the correct part #'s.

I'm glad you posted pics, the part numbers I posted are for the new style of mud guard. Toyota calls them 'Mud Guards', I tend to believe they should be called 'Mud flaps'. I have no idea what the part numbers are for the pictures you posted.
Print out your pictures and take them to the dealer with you. Be sure to get part numbers and you'll be able to source them on the internet.
I borrowed a pic from another post on this site, the part numbers I supplied are for this style:

Went to Toyota just now and they gave me the part numbers. I would suggest anyone who owns a 2008 or 2007 to grab these, as my rocker panels have taken a beating from rocks and dirt, scraping the paint off.
I'm going to price these out at TRD Sparks however, as Toyota wanted over $500 CAD for the complete set.
I will post the part numbers when I get home from work.

For my 07 HB, I paid under $30 (including tax) for front and rear mud guards at the local Toyota dealer.
I just bought a set at the dealer for my new Toyota Camry for $28.
$500 CAD just doesn't sound right!

^ $500 CAD does sound extreme, but these are much different than what you bought for your '07. Still $500 is an insane price.
The biggest difference now is the introduction of a plastic piece that runs along the entire underside of the rocker panel. That, and the different front guards which are about 12" long.

Here you go devinlamothe:
You are correct! The 4 piece splash guards are indeed $500 at your local Toyota dealer.
If you call Michael in the Parts dept. at Laking Toyota (Sudbury), he has a new set of splash guards just for you for only $40. If you're interested, call 1-800-461-6362 OR 1-705-674-7534.

Part numbers are:
Front mud/scratch guards ($125 each):
76621-52100
76622-52100
Rear rock guards ($64 each):
65632-52100
65631-52100
Rocker panel in-line protection ($88 each):
75852-52051
75851-52051
The best deal Michael could give me was $464 for everything ... unfortunately I can get it a lot cheaper from TRD Sparks.
EDIT: The one's you are talking about are probably the one's I have already, they look like regular mud flaps. The one's I am looking for are in the pictures above - way different but way better protection against rocks.
