Hi! I'm new to the forum and hoping I might be able to get some good advice from fellow Yaris owners here. I have a 2007 Yaris that I'm getting ready to return in a couple of days as my lease is ending. I took it by the dealership to have an initial check done to make sure there wasn't anything I needed to take care of prior to having them charge me big bucks at the return stage. It turns out that 3 of my tires need replacing. I was hoping to find used tires but am having a very difficult time as these are apparently not a common size. Can anyone recommend a good used tire place with lots of inventory or a place I can get new ones for super-cheap? Right now I have Bridgestone Potenza RE92's. The size is P185/60R15.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks!!

Have you tried your local salvage yard?

Don't understand why you can't get used tires locally. We have offers all the time around here. Wish you posted this months ago. I ditched my crappy Potenzas back then and they still had 25% tread left.

I've been trying local tire shops but haven't tried a salvage yard yet. Will try that, thanks bluevitz. Silverback... the tire shops have been saying not many cars use that size tire so they can sell me new ones but they say I'll have a hard time finding used ones.

Marcus, I'm sending you a PM.

Thanks:)

Can you install a different size and still get away with it?

Not sure...I don't know much about tires. Maybe I should call and ask the dealership tomorrow?

you should be able to put a different tire unless theyre anal about having the goodyear on it..anyways i have an 2007 yaris rs im pretty sure it uses this tires . i wish i can just give it to you but im using those tires for winter and running 16s on summer ..i dont mind getting new winter tires for it but need some cash atleast for new ones.

You probably could, but I recommend not talking to the dealership. They can't be trusted 100%.

A stock wheel can easily fit a tire up to 205 in size. I'm running 205/50/15 with no issues. A 195 size should work too since it looks like a 185 tire to the untrained eye (and dealers aren't too bright about details). In any case if you can find a 195 or 205 size make sure to fill them up to about 40 psi so it doesn't look too buldgly and cause suspicion. Once the car is off your hands it's their problem now...

Call UTI in Burlington.
They specialize in used tires off of wrecks. Most are like new and they charged me $50.00each installed and balanced when I needed some for my Talon.
Yaris size could be cheaper.
They're located at New Street and Guelph Line, on the south-west corner hidden behind a small strip plaza.
