So I haven't seen any pictures of DIY's for the hood seal on the sedan yet. I got mine yesterday and there is is a big difference with the sedan. The headlights don't have a thick flat ridge like the hatch back does to apply the stripping to. So with the helpful suggestion of Grimlock, you can see in the pictures where I applied a strip on either side of the hood that will close down onto that section of the headlights.

Just don't rush it and slowly peel away the white strip as you place it to the curves.

Mostly cosmetic. It fills in that gap between the hood and the bumper. Also, it helps keep dust and such from entering through those gaps. You'll still get stuff from underneath of course but still. But yeah, mostly cosmetic.

Then the side one on the side of the intake, helps water from getting onto the filter. For example, when washing the car with those high-pressure washers, you won't soak the filter. Because of my OCD, I had to put one on the other side to match....

But again, mostly cosmetic

It's night time right now but I'll snap a shot tomorrow before work and post it for sure. It makes a nice difference when it's closed ;)

Here are a couple pics of the hood closed. You aren't able to see the side pieces because of their placement.

thank you... it does look better. i noticed that we already have a two little strips on top of the hood as well but they barely do anything.

I took my car to the manual car wash today to see how much water I could get into the hood with the seal on it. Using the high-powered spray, I made sure I gave a good go around the hood. Once all was said and done, I popped the hood to check and there was only a little bit (about a table spoon) of water on the bottom of the AFE air box. The water wasn't able to go in powerful enough to reach the filter. So since I doubt I'll ever experience rains as powerful as that hose, unless I drive through a hurricane, I think my air filter is safe

Could anybody tell me the outer diameter of the round part of this seal? I found a company in Germany which sells all kinds of seals but they've got plenty different sizes and i don't know which one is a sure fit. Thank you!
