So for those have bought aftermarket fogs and installed them themselves, I was thinking about changing the switch. Has anyone done that? Is it hard? I looked at the plug of stock switch and it looks like I would just have to take the wires from the stock one and put them on the new switch.

Any tips would be great!

Thanks

I changed mine to a small black toggle switch. Nothing fancy, just on/off. I used a dremel tool to fit/clip it into the placeholder next to my shifter. I like it. I'll take a picture later.

Not hard at all.. just wire it up and you're done. Just make sure it fits. And like said above dremel.

If you go for a lighted switch, make sure that the light is separate from the switch contacts. Then, you simply connect to switch contacts to the yellow and orange (or beige) wires of the headlight stalk and connect the light to dimmer (either at the shift illumination or at the dimmer rheostat).

I personally don't like that.

I replaced my turn signal/headlight stalk with a similar switch with fog light control. This makes it a true factory install with, and NO cabin or firewall entry is needed for the wiring.

How much was your oem stalk with foglight switch? I'm getting my fogs soon, and I'd like OEM controls, but I don't want to pay more for the switch then I did for the fogs ($100) ...

Switch was around $75 I think.
