Hi,
My question : how can I change the antenna or improve my radio signal reception strength in my Sedan ?

The antenna is in the rear glass, in fact it is not an antenna but a wire on the glass.
I want to install one, because that kind of antenna is meant to be used in towns not in remote areas.

I live in a remote area and I have no problem picking up stations.

I live now in the Sahara Desert, there is no AM radio antenna 400 km around, that's why I need a stronger antenna. The closest FM transmitter is 100 km away.

I guess you could put a LB antenna on it with some roof modification... I think there might be some signal amps that could be installed inline between the antenna and the radio. In fact I just found an FM booster here (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-p0dWKznuXQf/p_12044UA60/FM-Signal-Amplifier.html)

I thought about installing an antenna directly at the end of the existing antenna wiring, but according to the Yaris maintenance manual I should remove the roof plastics and so on.
Now I am thinking of plugging directly another antenna somewhere in the start of the wiring not far from the radio receiver ..

In North Africa yes (Algeria), there are very large desert area here and the AM is the best modulation for the desert.

Im wondering the same thing. Ever since i had my windows tinted it seems like even my local stations dont come in clear now.

Thats weird... I'd call BS but I don't know all the details... are they metallic tint? I can't imagine tint interfering with a radio signal unless, maybe, it was metallic (or maybe the tint shop damaged the antenna)...

plastic tint do not affect radio waves at all.

It was suntek brand i think. Which is semi metallic not ceramic like 3m. Or could be they may have damaged the antenna when doing it.

Get a CB antenna, such as a FireStik, up to a 4-foot model is perfectly safe to mount on the roof as long as you get the light-weight spring, not the medium-heavy-weight one. You'll need to punch a 1/2" hole in somewhere in your car, but you'll get astronomical radio reception then with a CB to AM/FM splitter box.

The CB antenna wiring will be higher quality and more sealed (signal-wise) than the stock radio antenna, too, so the signal will stay clearer of interference.
