i have a 3dr hatch and a i need hitch for the car

aiming to run a bike rack on the back so my wife can bring her bicycle in the morning and ride home at the end of the day (since we commute together)

any suggestions of where to buy one? keep in mind i live in canada, so finding something local would be ideal as i don't want to ship to my sister-in-law in michigan and have to wait till we see her again to get the hitch, etc)

Do they even make roof racks for the Yaris? I've been wanting one.

I'll be honest tho. I'll only run one for the looks. I don't own a bike.

I have one, good for 2 bikes, Hidden Hitch, i got it at a local shop here in Quebec city (VitroPlus).
I guess you can find it at Canadian Tire too. The cost was about 150$ for the hitch and the rack.

Curt Class I hitch is what I have installed. Purchased from etrailer.com

http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...cleid=20087987

Ship out of a warehouse here in Ontario so no border issues. I see now that they also have a wiring kit available. Something that I had given up searching for, but it now seems that they are available. If you opt for an etrailer purchase, maybe I can get you to include a wiring kit in your order. That way you would qualify for free shipping with minimum $150 purchase.

thanks for the link, but im pretty sure that a hitch and bike rack will be cheaper than a yakima or thule rack system....and easier to get a bike on/off of

and my dad is giving me his old bike carrier from when he had his eagle vista...lol

Didn't realize my link was bad. Yes that is the hitch, part#11050

Would be nice to get wiring so that I can 'legally' pull my trailer. ;)

What about hidden hitch?

oh and its real easy to get a bike on top of the yaris into a bike tray.... Im a short girl and its a piece of cake for me, however I dont have a very heavy bike.... I have a single speed road bike not a mountain bike which may be a differnt story....
$259 - free shipping for the thule roof rack.
but then all the accesories cost more like: wind fairing($80), bike tray($80), and basket ($100). Altogether I've spent close to 600 on mine ..... but oh do I love it :)

some people get rims or coils, I got a roof rack :)

good luck! and post up pics once installed!

Boo, roof rack it!

i looked into roof racks and hitches and realized that i would rather spend the $150 on a hitch than the $600ish for the permanent roof racks. i don't really see fitting a bike or a kayak (why i wanted one of the above) on the two roof racks on the front door.
