I've noticed there are not too many yaris' out there yet many dealerships don't have them. I live in maple(wonderland) and dont see hardly any. Are the all south of steeles?

I've spotted several times an orange yaris with JDM taillights on Bayview going south past Sheppard. Makes me want to get the JDM tails

umm, I see the sedans more then the hatch, i travel the 400, in Barrie we have lots of them available. certain dealers don't stock them as that area doesn't buy economy cars, its woodbridge, those rich Italians buy BMW's, and Mercedes, not econobox's, heck even there kids drive $50,000 cars...

I mainly see a lot of stock Yaris hatchbacks. Pretty plain and simple, no spoiler or lip or anything. I'm still waiting to see a fellow RS, but I'm not holding my breath.

i've seen a lot of yarises in mississauga. surprising since it's a suburban hellhole... wide roads and big cars everywhere. no real need for a small city car.
if you see a copper orange RS hatch in mississauga, gimme a honk, :P

Yeah, if you see a Meteorite Metallic Yaris RS 5dr in North York/Markham/Richmond Hill area, that'd probably be me. But it's stock aside from being RS so who knows... haha.
And yes, there are tons of Yarii in and around, but they're almost all stock non-RS.

RS = Really for Show
... And there's a problem with that? This whole forum is populated with people modding their stock Yaris with these rims and those spoilers and that lip.
I didn't want to bother spending the time looking through all the aftermarket shops, especially when the stock RS looks fine by me.
And there are quite a few differences to the interior that makes the car all that much better for me.

I think the RS looks nice and is worth the extra money if that's what you want, but we wanted the Yaris to save money so we got the rs or really slow version.

lol, someone took the RS comment personal...
i would have loved an RS...i love the front seats, rims, split fold rear seats, side skirts, leather steering wheel and knob, etc...just couldnt justify spending the extra 5g's on it at the time

Yeah, the response came off as defensive, but hey, it was just weird to see that kind of comment on these forums when I've seen so many other threads about mods. So, sorry.
Anyway, my reasoning for getting a Yaris was more along the lines of me wanting a car that won't burn through gas like no tomorrow, and also a car that's small because I'm used to driving an '04 Echo HB so I wanted something similar. In reality the Yaris handles much differently than the Echo, and is also larger, but I've gotten used to it now.

abs brakes, side skirts, leather shifter, leather steering wheel, spoiler, mp3 6 disc player, chromed internals, sliding and folding rear seats, fog lights, orange dash board meters, and rs emblem.. what did i miss..
and was it really 5k difference thought it was around 4 or less.

Yeah sounds about right, feature wise. It's been a while since I did the comparisons though. According to the Toyota Canada build a car website, the difference between a 5dr RS vs non-RS is $4450. I'd say this is an estimate though, given that you may get another price from the dealer.

Almost everyday on the 401, I see a black hatch with a huge soccer ball decal on the back.
I see a lot more, but this car stands out with that huge sticker.

Funny, I see 3 or 4 daily during my 55 kl. commute back home.
Recently drove Burlington to Regina and back following the US route via Chicago (~5620 kl round trip).
Saw only two Yarii during the whole trip. One on the 402 going into Sarnia and the other at gas station in Flint Michigan.
Did see plenty of Camry and surprisingly more Nissan' and of all things Hyundai' then other Toyota's. Hyundai' 10 year warranty (in the US only) must be driving sales.
Aside from that, mostly NA cars and pickum-ups across the mid-west and in Saskatewan. Very few imports.

Theres only a few modded Yaris' in my area. I have to say, most Yaris owners in Markham who mod their cars, should find another hobby. Theres a swt 4 dr Yaris I used to see at Warden and steeles all the time. It was just like mine, in sedan format, lowered and rims. There are a few Yaris' in Richmond Hill with 17s and 18s...really throws off the cuteness of the car imo.

Seeing Yarii around town has become to regular for me now that I basically don't even make note of it unless it has some sort of add-on that makes it look any different than the base stock model. I have yet to see a fellow RS HB on the roads, though I have seen a few base models with tinted windows and maybe some different rims.
Oddly enough I did see an RS a few weeks ago but I guess it must have been an older model because it basically looked like the base models of today's Yaris. No special lip or rally spoiler.

what city are you in?
the 06-07 rs's only had side skirts.....it was in 08 they put on the front/rear lips and in 09 than they have the totally different front

Technically, Markham. But I spend equal amounts of time in Toronto as well.
But yeah, that would explain the inconsistencies.

I was just in Montreal this weekend and I saw endless amounts of Echos and Yarii. It's actually kinda funny, because Montreal has pretty steep roads so I was kind of expecting more SUVs to be around... But I guess given just how narrow their streets are that's not very possible.

I've seen loadz of Yaris in Scarborough area. But like only 15% 2DR. Yeah we should do a Yaris meet up and we can parade our cars on the roads. That sounds cool, eh?

I saw a white 2009 Yaris HB RS similar to mine on the edge of Richmond Hill on Leslie just north of 16th Ave one morning a few weeks ago.
Kind of gave a confused but amused look because it was the first Yaris RS with the same kit as mine.

lol, it's pretty funny. I've gotten reactions ranging from "wow that's pretty cheap" to "you paid that much for this?" about my car. I promptly shut them up by showing them its light enough to be quick and amazingly easy to park with its insanely awesome turning radius.
The one thing that always impresses me about the Yaris is its acceleration speed off the line. :burnrubber: It's not amazing, but for an economy car it's got kick. Now... hitting the gas when you're on the wrong gear on the other hand... that's a different story. haha
