View Full Version : OEM Steering wheel with cruise control?

My 2008 HB came with a factory mounted cruise control stalk, so I was lucky enough to not have to do a mod to include the cruise control. However, this stalk seems EXTREMELY cheap and I've hit it a number of times with my knee already. Before the stalk breaks, I'd like to invest in a new steering wheel that has the cruise buttons built in. I know Garm had one available awhile back (I think it was a JDM wheel from a Toyota SUV?) that had phone and volume buttons on it.

So, is there a way that those buttons could be wired to use them for cruise instead of calls, or, can anyone point me towards a place I can purchase an OEM wheel with the cruise/volume control?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 2008 and would like to see any pics of the stalk if you can please.
I've never seen a factory installed yet.

Sorry it took so long to get these up, but here's the pic of the OEM Cruise stalk.

If I can track down a Toyota OEM wheel w/ the cruise buttons that works on the Yaris, I'll be willing to get this stalk to any interested parties

I was wondering why it was on the left. My 2010 oem cruise is on the right, and looks slightly different. But hey if it gets the job done, eh. I tried to upload a picture, but it failed :iono:

Really?? It was on there when I got the car, and I have a feeling the (only) previous owner wouldn't have taken the time to install it...

So, in looking closer at my set up, I don't see how the stalk could go on the right side. The indentation around the ignition takes up pretty much the entire side of the steering column. Can anyone post up a pic of their OEM stalk install?

Yours is definitely a Rostra cruise control. It was probably either port or dealer installed. The reason that Toyota used them to "add" cruise to a car that didn't come from the factory with it, is that it has the LED on it. For them to add their own OEM cruise and have an indicator, they would have had to replace the cluster.

Here's a picture of my OEM Toyota stalk, as I was installing it:
