I was headed down to the local Lowe's near sunset yesterday, and stopped at the traffic light to wait to turn left onto the Volunteer Parkway here in Bristol, Tennessee. When the light finally changed, a guy headed south on the Parkway in a small Lexus had to stop and wait. I pulled out and started cruising in the right lane at the 35 MPH speed limit, as I always do. Behind me, the light changed and the Lexus roared off. He zoomed up to catch me, and though the left lane was clear to pass, he got right on my bumper and aggressively tailgated me. Perhaps he was mad at me for triggering the light and making him stop? As I got to the gentle downgrade approaching Med One, he suddenly whipped left, floored the gas and roared around me. WHOOOM! He whipped back over into the right lane 100 feet in front of me, and from the Med One parking lot a police car zipped out and got right on his bumper! The cop stayed on his bumper for .3 miles or so, and while the guy in the Lexus slowed down, they were still putting distance between me and them as I cruised the posted speed limit. As they passed in front of Lowe's, where I was headed, the blue lights came on. The cop made the guy pull down into the Food City parking lot and ticketed him in front of all the grocery shoppers, while I went into Lowe's and went about my business. Hee, hee, hee.

Good for him, out here in PR I see that alot, when I have someone on my back bumper like you I stop short, so they can back off, they hit me the insuranse will take care of it. Be good, and holla at your boy.

Ha ha.
Always nice to see those type of drivers get what they deserve.
Hopefully the "VIP" in the Lexus was a jerk to the cop and got tasered in the balls. Maybe that's asking too much, but it's fun to imagine.

:thumbup:It always make the day seem a little bit nicer when you get to see a jerk driver being pulled over. I've never understood why some people will ride your ass in the slow lane when the passing/fast lane is completely open.

The one thing I never got was, the people who do this only get to there destination maybe 10 seconds before me. :iono:, But there are many times I wish this would happen. One time I was coming back from DC on 270 and some women came flying up my ass(I was in the far right lane), and then switched over and passed me, not a second later she suddenly slowed down and got behind me:confused:. Turned out there was a cop and she got caught:biggrin:.

Way back when I had my Eclipse a trash-talking ricer with a weighed-down Civic challenged me to a street drag on my way home one night. As he was running his mouth I noticed behind me the distinctive bright headlights of a Crown Vic and the street lights glaring off the red and blue on the roof. I figured the only way to shut-up this douchebag next to me is by "accepting" the race. Light turns green, he lights-up his ride, cops light-up theirs and quickly pull around me and chase-down the idiot by the next light. I calmly cruise pass the scene doing the speed limit acting like I didn't see anything, but in the back of my mind hoping they yank his license.

awesome story yaris hilton! - that kinda thing happens to me a lot - I always just hold my ground - and take my foot off the gas rather than braking hard - (I think cops in BC favor us Yaris drivers - hahaha!)

Yeah, I've had guys blast past me, only to get pulled over. I always slow down, and give the guy a friendly toot-toot on the horn as I go past. Somehow, they never give me a friendly wave back...

You don't consider a middle finger wave friendly?
I love them. I know when I get one that I've done something right.

Had a Pacifica pass me and several others on my way back from California on Monday doing a good 20+ over the limit close to the Oregon border. She was so focused passing everyone she didn't notice the CHP car coming the opposite way. I waved when I passed her.
