View Full Version : SIGNATURES are Getting Out of Hand!!

Admins, there needs to be some kind of signature limit SIZE, like the dozens of other fourms i belong to have.... having to scroll past 13 lines of "mods" in a signature everytime the user posts a reply, is just stupid..

I shrunk my picture in my signature from the very start, as thats just what other boards allow.

Let toss some ideas around on this subject.

That is an excellent idea;

Something like a 10 line limit

No I disagree... 10 line is what we all have to scroll through now...

Use the User Garage feature if you want to list all your mods/pictures.

vbulletin doesnt have a good unified system of limiting sigs at this time unfortunatly, but i hate large sigs too! so if you come across someone with an overly gross sig just report one of his posts and I will trim down the sig :)

could make a forum rule as to a size limit, so we all know, and then hopefully the users will be inteligent enough to keep it within the size limit, and then after that if they can not contain it, removal will be accepted with less whining ;)

Ha,how about no signiture,I mean comeon, who really needs one,na,just kidding Chris.Ive just been to lazy to make a garage, but I also feel that it gives someone new to the forum to see what people have without looking at every car,and I think there are more people using the signiture feature then the garage feature of this site.I have had plenty of people pm. me asking where I got this,or that, and for what price,or how is that working for you.If you ask me,it helps spark great Yaris conversation.Im really 50/50 on this,I will be making a garage and putting the link in my signiture, but for now it stays, hopefully as a freedom of expression and/or speech,if not for just the simple fact that I love my Yaris and want to share what Ive done with the great and hopefully permenant residents of this great state of YarisWorld.com.:headbang: :drinking: :bellyroll:

eco,

Just line up the list of items horizontally instead of vertically and make the font size much smaller, that way you can still have all that info for anyone that wants to read it, but it also won't get in the way of reading posts. PLease fix or I will hehe :)

Also doesnt need to be posted everytime you reply in the same post as well.

You can "uncheck" the little box that says to include your signature in the post.

No, im all about having 5 pages to scroll through to read, rather then 10+ because of the length of some signatures.

It's fine if guys want to show off their mods, but there is no reason to list each one, plus wish list mods.. gimmie a break.

Vodka, this might be the first time you ever moderated a forum before, but topic's like this are something to think about, not ment to ruffle feathers.

Haha, you lazy bastard you! 6 more clicks on the center wheel on your mouse would just KILL you, wouldn't it?

Ah, but I can see where you're coming from and my sig has been edited accordingly. I feel somewhat responsible for all of this, haha. :burnrubber:

I think there is a feature on most message board software that only allows a signature to be displayed once per person per post. So If I have two or more replies in a post, my signature will only be in my first reply. The second, third, replies will not have it. It cuts down on the scrolling bigtime. My 2 cents.

sigs are fine in every post as long as they arent so dam long... if short enough they dont even get in the way.

THey SHOULD accompany each post, because I duno abotu you guys, but I dont always start at the beginning of a post :)

Blah Blah Blah... only the guys needing to display every mod seem to be complaining about change.

Its a feedback / suggestion / question section of the forums, if it bothers you that much, dont feel the "need" to reply.

To those that will take that personal, which I know a few will, grow a spine and learn how to have a discussion.

this was an excellent suggestion; but like bueller said there is now way to enforce this (on the server-end that is); so we are going to have to rely on the forum members to control/limit the size of their own sig's. But also; if you feel the sig is way to long, simply report the user (as suggested by bueller) and he/someone will manually shorten the sig.

this is an excellet thread so a thanks in order for chirs07lb

Ummm.....

A) I never complained about signature lengths. I was simply trying to offer my help to the post.

B) I made my signature back when we were lucky to get a yaris at all and there were not "Mods" available. Getting things like the power pacakage was next to impossible. It WAS called being proud of what you had. I guess that isnt the case anymore.

Since the forum is not what it started out to be and most of the posts here are just bagging on others now and are not helpful at all. I will stop trying to offer help and just enjoy my Yaris. Have fun guys.

You need to do whats best for you, and if not posting what you want because someone's comment bothered you so, then be it.

Or you can use the View Users Garage feature rathen then surfing page after page in a new post.

It would be duely noted that every user on this board has the option of turning signatures off.

User CP > Edit Options > Thread Display Options > Show Signatures

Life is so much better now that I don't have to scroll through all that garbage.
