I thought I had saved a link, and searching didn't come up with the exact
answer I thought I had seen before. My buddy wants to run a cable into
the driver's glovebox. Where is the best place to drill a hole and have
access to that to run a cable?
I have found a post about installing a Scanguage II and they drilled it in the
back, just left of center. I thought I remember reading some that had
drilled a hole on the right rear corner, (if you can get a drill in there), but
again couldn't find that. If a hole were drilled in the right rear corner, would
it help to take the radio trim off to be able to get to that corner?
Here is one link I found for drilling a hole in the glovebox:

Anyone have suggestions and/or pics on how to run that cable into the
driver's glovebox? Maybe CTScott has a suggestion via Crashy?? :iono:

I don't have access to a camera right now but I drilled mine in the right rear corner. It was very easy. I was installing an Ipod cord in there so I did have the radio out. I just went outside and looked at mine again and I drilled the hole on the flat part on the upper right hand side of the driver glove box. The hole faces downward at an angle. I had my dash off and drilled from the outside into the glove box. I hope this helps.

This is how I did it on my old '07 LB. One on the right corner and another for an additional 12v socket in the middle:

In my '09 5-door LB, I put the holes in different spots:

Taking the radio out helps just so you can see if there's anything back there you want to avoid drilling into.
Sorry for the collage pics.. I deleted the separate pictures after putting the collages together.
Before cutting the hole, I recommend going to AutoZone or Radio Shack to pick up a grommet you can put in the hole to make it look cleaner. Get a grommet that's big enough to squeeze your cable(s) through then cut a hole in the dash that's small enough that the grommet won't fall through, but big enough to get your cable(s) through and for the grommet to actually fit in tightly.

Thanks guys! Pictures always help, too.
Palmer812 - I don't know if we are ambitious enough to want to take the dash out to drill. :iono: I thought I had read some people drilled a small
hole and then used a Dremel tool to enlarge it.
IsLNdbOi - I like the idea of USB outlets down near the 12v power outlet.
Did you also take the dash out to put the 12v outlet in the glovebox?
Great idea about the grommet for a cleaner install.

Unless I'm reading this post wrong, having my glovebox out right now...
You don't need to take the dash off to drill a hole into the glovebox. It'll come right off. ...And yes, putting a grommet in is the nice sano thing to do.

I know the passenger glovebox comes out, but what about the driver's side glovebox?
I thought that was part of the dash? :iono:

Ok, for those that don't know for some reason:
The LB has a glovebox above the steering wheel. That glovebox is not removable.
The LB also has a glovebox on the passenger side like most cars do. That glovebox is removable.
