Has anyone bought the Continental ProContact with EcoPlus Technology tires for their Yaris?

I have had a lot of good luck using Continental tires on my old 4Runner. My daughter has my old 4Runner and it still has some Continental tires that I bought about 5 years ago. They are still running strong and look almost new.

So I would love to buy these new Continentals but wanted to know if anyone out in the Yaris World has some personal experience with them.

Their made by Good Year which means junk. I sale tires for a living..Not sure what you are looking for in a tire..Look at the Yoko TRZ.

On the Tire Rack site you'll probably find some user reports and comments.

Are your sure? Everything I can find on the internet says that Continental owns General Tire and Hossier Tire.

I agree with you about Goodyear being junk, but my personal experience with Continental is very good.

TireRack ranks this tire second overall in a test of 4 LRR tires: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=133 The test results charts shows more data: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/chartDisplay.jsp?ttid=133

For 15" tires, you have a choice between the Continental or Goodyear Fuel Max.
For 14" tires, I would get the Bridgestone Ecopia Ep100.

I got a mag from tire rack w/ ECO tires tested on a Prius. No one tire was a miracle mpg maker.

I thought my OEM tires would need replacing around 36K miles, but they still are holding on. I did rotate them since the front ones were showing wear.

I appreciate the link to the stories. I think cost wise, I will buy the Continental Eco tires. As I have said it previous posts, I have had excellent service out of other Continental tires. I am thinking I will get 100K miles out of their eco model. Of course, I would replace them after 4 years.....I believe the tires change their chemical properties because of exposure to light and temperature.

We're getting these tires for our 2010 3 door in the spring . Will put the O.E.M. Goodyears from the 2010 on the 2008 sedan . There's studless snow tires on both . BLIZZAK WS 70s' for the 2010 and COOPER WeatherMaster ST-2s' on the 2008 .

don't ever ever buy GoodYear FuelMax tires...i bought them for my old '06 xB & my mpg dropped an average of 2-3mpg per tank...i had to pump them up to 64psi to get that back...but then it rode like radio flyer red wagon

I have the Continental Extreme snow tires on a set of steelies & was very impressed with them.

I am a mechanic and I change goodyears more often than my underwear LOL j/k... My original tires lasted me 46,000 miles and they are bald. I now have michelin harmony's and love them... They are about 3 sizes bigger than stock so they ride way better with the bigger side wall. They are also 80,000 miles tires so I should have them on for awhile :D

Well, its been some time since I started this thread but I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Continental eco tires. Got them at Tirerack.com and had them installed at Firestone here in Indy. Overall I am very happy with the tires and will test them on the road tomorrow when I drive to my office in Chicago.

I will report on any drastic changes in the mileage....and I am sure it won't satisfy some of the metadata freaks that post on this site....but I don't have to make them happy....just the man in the mirror!

We have these on the '08 sedan . Rides better , handles better ( especially in the rain , Bridgestone RE 92s were horrible ) , and the cabin is quieter . They're set at 36 p.s.i.. They were on the 2010 3 door , but traded that in . Had them removed from the '10 to the '08 . Here's a thread on this tire , http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31293 . I posted pics of these tires when on the '10 3 door , did wonders for that too . Had the EAGLE LS put back on the '10 3 door . Gas mileage remains the same .

Just finished my first leg of the Indy to Chicago and back to Indy trip. So far, the ride is much better than the OEM Bridgestones, but the mileage isn't any better. When I fill up and get a reading I will have better information to judge by. But they do handle bumps and road noise much better.

Maybe the gas mileage will go up as they wear in . Keep us updated . Enjoy .

I had my return trip to Indy and the tires did very well. It was raining heavily the last half of the trip and my Yaris held the road much better than the old OEM tires used to. I gassed up this morning and the mileage was good.....not the best I ever had....but since I drove 77 MPH on the way to home, my round trip mileage was almost 38 MPG.

So far, I am very happy with this purchase.

Wet roads don't help gas mileage , more resistance .

Tire Rack makes that point, expect less then the eventual MPG out of a brand new tire. They need to wear in, more or less, like a new pair of jeans.

This is an update, after about 8 months, I really haven't seen any additional mileage out of these tires. I seem to get about the same mileage as the previous OEM Bridgestone tires. They continue to ride better but I still average about 38 to 39 MPG on the interstate running at 70 MPH. If I had to do it over again I would still buy this tire. Good price and good handling. Did very well in the winter with snow and ice. Can't complain.

We've had 5 tanks in a row of 40+ m.p.g. with them . First for that since buying the car . On the way to another of 40+ . The downfall is that they wear quick . Started at 11/32s , down to about 7/32s on the front and 8/32s on the rear . Plan to get them rotated in a few weeks . They've always been rotated in less than 6,000 miles . Keep them at an average of 35 for the pressure . Use snows in the winter .

Another tank of 41.62 ( 389.2 mis. / 9.35 gals. of 93 w/E10 @ 1 click ) . Eco read 40.3 . The pics are 38.9 miles after the fill on the way to see a relative in a hospital . Eco Plus tires reset at 36 . Have 41.5 showing on Eco ( lower than actual mileage ) with 150+ miles and 2 bars lost . 2 of us .

Mileage dropped thanks to 3 people , trunk full of groceries , and hills . Still happy with results . The Contis are down to about 7/32s in front and 8/32s for rear . That we're not thrilled about since they start at 11/32s . The tire pressure is 35.5 for the Eco + . The Ecopia 422s are slightly under 10/32s in the front and at 10/32s in rear of the '11 Fit . There's over 3,000 on those . Seem to be holding up better .

Yesterday did a fill of GULF 93 w/E10 at 1 click . Calculated 42.068 . 30% city and some interstate with an average of 67 . This tank is carried over from the thread above .

Sorry to report that my back right Conti had a flat last week in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After waiting for 2 hours in the heat for my USAA road service to show up, I finally made it to Wal mart to try and salvage the tire. Unfortunately, it sidewalls were too damaged and I had to buy a Goodyear Eagle II tire to replace the Conti. Not the tire of my choice, but under the circumstances, it was the best I could get.

Another 42.8 m.p.g. overall ( 361.9 mis. / 8.45 gals. ) . E.M. was 41.4 . Discovered it was set at 95 . Reset to 96 to see if less of a gap . There was 3 bars left .
