Unfortunately, not exactly what you nor I had in mind, I'm sure.

Poivre decided to pick a fight with a Grand Caravan today, and this was just after I had him washed and waxed on my break. I guess you could say he won, as all of the damage on my car is cosmetic and no metal was involved, whereas the GC's driver could not open her door. My hood is off a little, and all of the plastic push clips that line the top of the bumper have shot out and landed somewhere else.

This is a wonderful present, as I turn 24 on Thursday. :barf:

Officer did not determine a fault of either driver since it occured on private property, however I'd be hard pressed to see which way I can call this one. USAA will determine fault and we'll go from there I guess. She kept going into her space, so taking pictures at the point of impact was impossible. That's all I can really say.

Oh well. Thank God for that extra $6/mo for accident forgiveness, should the need for it arise. Time for an RS front bumper? :iono:

And here is how he sat literally just hours before, since he looked pristine just after I got back to work and snapped a picture of his fresh detailing.

Time for a lot of beer tonight.

Sad :( That looks so clean too. Hopefully you can take advantage of this situation and turn it into something positive! Good luck!

He was very clean, still had glaze on the tires that hadn't even had time to dry yet. And I was even going to treat him to TRD springs this weekend before he decided to go bully cars 3x his size.

Yup try and turn this into a positive like I did. RS bumper FTW! You might check with Garm and see if he has any front bumpers left.

SAV912 - fellow USAA member here. Hope they fix things to your
satisfaction. I had a minor accident several years ago, and they fixed me
up just fine.

If you do have a few beers, make sure someone else will drive you home!

Well, dropped it off at the 'hospital' on my birthday yesterday. Got the estimate later on that day for a whopper $1003.26.

My deductible is $1000. Thank you USAA for potentially taking care of that extra $3.26. o_O;;

Hopefully he's back at home on Monday on time. They offered me to drop it off next week so I had a car for my vacation, but if I'm going somewhere, I'm not gonna drive a wrecked car. Just wanted to share a little pity party.

HOWEVER. Ma had me over for chili and a chocolate cake she baked, and it was GOOOOD GOOD. Family time has a way of sorta healing everything, ya know?

Well, $1116.32 and a week later, Poivre is back home.

The difference between how clean and knick free my front bumper is now and how lousy the chips and light scratches on the hood is absolutely astounding. As it's already pitch-dark now, however, I'll post up new pics in the morning. Unfortunately, the body shop that USAA auth'd had started work on the car before I was able to locate an RS bumper, so I have to stick with a fresh stock bumper for now.

Such is life.

Consider getting a $500 deductable. :frown:
