View Full Version : Instrument Panel goes out if I turn on my lights

Last night I started my car and turned on the lights and when I did the entire instrument panel went out (except for the little lights on indicator on the top left). If I turn the lights off, the instrument panel lights up again. Individually, everything is fine, just not all at once.
So basically I have to choose between driving with no gages or no lights!
As anyone experienced this before? Any advice?

Tonight when I turned on my lights after starting my car, the entire intrument panel went out (except for the lights on indicator light, which remained on). If I turn the lights off the panel lights up again. All my lights, including the interior light and license plate light are working.
So basically I have to choose between driving with no lights on and having my gages or driving with gages and no lights!
Has anyone experienced this before?

do you have HIDs Installed? If yes, you may hae a bad ballast. Happened to me.
Check the dash lights dimming knob. If it is moved all the way up and clicks you will get that exact operation.

There's a dial to adjust the bright of the panel on the left lower dash...turn it up!

That tripped me up the first time too! My knee swiped down on the dial, but i found it and all was good since!

My vote goes for the dimmer dial too.

Mine too.
Could be something else, but probably not.
