I have a 2009 5doors LB. it comes with heated side mirrors:headbang:.
To activate it, you push on the rear defrost button.
I'd like to activate heated mirrors with a separate switch.
I use the mirrors heater when it rains... don't need the rear defrost in summer...
Plus, the defroster is on a timer and don't need that on the mirrors.
Does somebody have the 2009 EWD?
(or anyone have done this or know how to do it?)
if never been done, i might consider makin' a How-to.
thanks.

Here's the EWD for the mirror heater. You can easily add a switch - Just make sure that it is rated for 10A or better.

That's interesting that your Canadian 09 has the heated mirrors. Our US 09s don't, but they do have all of the wiring in place for it. I actually used the unused mirror heater wires to simplify wiring my LED turn signal mirrors.

On canadian 2009, heated mirrors and electric doors locks (central switch under the hand brake, when no electricals accessories package) comes factory on 5 doors LB only. Not on the 3doors.
Good idea to used that circuit forLED turn signal.

Hi Alezius! Just wondering if you completed your heated mirror project. Was it a simple DIY?

Heated mirrors!
Defrost on a timer!
God I'd love to have both of those. Wouldn't care one bit if they don't operate independently.
