... and you paid the HST on that printer.

That's one thing I don't don't miss about Canada is the taxes.

Yep, as of July 1st can't by batteries, paint, dish soap and thousands of other items without now being hit with the 'Eco Fee'.

Sucks.

Hey, I used to be reppin' the 905 myself a few years ago. Now reppin' the 313 I guess.

Love Canada. Hate the taxes.

Pollution sucks far worse then 'taxes'. It's good that the true cost of these wasteful products is being paid up front.

If you bothered reading some canadian newspapers, you'd quickly find out that retailers are using the "eco-fee" as a way to pad their bottom line.

Not surprising. Being "green" is the latest way to charge more for things.

yea its all about money nothing about the enviroment, going green is the new vision of getting green.

Sounds like what they put on bottles when you buy beer and such from the super market

There's also a recycling fee here in California. When I purchased a mac back in 2006, they charged me $15. I wonder how much it is now...

They just started doing this in PR about a couple of months ago. I thought it was here, and that they just wanted more money I guess I was wrong about that. Holla.

Maybe it's an incentive to keep things longer. That would be a plus, and an argument against the idea that it's purely for more profit.

try to negotiate a reduction in the sticker price - one incorporates the recycle / disposal fee - never hurts to ask

what about those factories spewing all that crap into the air. They better start sending monthly eco bills to those factories for putting crap into our air. It better be a hefty bill for them too.

I swear corporations and governments they all just take their bare hands around society and squeeze it like a wet rag until every drop that we have is gone.
